  1. Ok....I've searched for quite some time, and I can't believe no one has asked this:

I've heard Songs Ohia: Magnolia Electric Company (love it), Trials and Errors (love parts of it), and Fading Trails (dig 2-3 songs it), but what should I explore in their back catalog next? Any recommendations or albums, b-sides, splits or eps are much appreciated!

  2. i was skeptical when i heard they were covering one of the most significant songs on the album because this song is sacred to EV. his performance on this song and this last album show this band is nowhere near done making great music. pretty incredible performance by a 40 something that smokes a pack a day.

    - i'm still a monkey driven fanboy. :monkey

  3. just saw stranger than fiction, and while it isn't going to win any oscars, it was worth the price of admission if you are a spoon (or wreckless eric) fan. the people in front of me turned back with some strange looks when i tapped my toe to the way we get by. maggie gyllenhaal continues to be my #2 behind cate blanchett. charlie kaufman for dummies is my final verdict. the cgi elements were unprecedented too!

  4. he will be missed. the man had a sense of style in mass media that really had no rival. the stories on larry king this week from the 60 minutes correspondents brought tears to my eyes. he was one of the few people in the media that i truly admired.

  5. i've had a 20 gig 4g for close to two years, and I recently got a Nano for free. I have over 140 gigs of music on an external hard drive, and to be honest, I like the Nano better because of the size. I travel every week, and it is so easy to load what I want to hear that week, and it usually takes around 30-45 minutes to choose and upload 4 gigs worth of music. 4 gigs of music offers enough variety for me every week.

If you exercise, the nano is just so much more convenient.....especially if you run. regardless, make sure you purchase the applecare or extended warranty plan if you go with a video ipod.

  6. August 27, 2006 - Reading Festival; Richfield Avenue, Reading, UK

Set List: Interstellar Overdrive/Corduroy, Do The Evolution, Animal, World Wide Suicide, Severed Hand, Dissident, Even Flow, Sad, I Am Mine, Jeremy, Grievance, Wasted Reprise, Better Man, Save You, Blood, Rearviewmirror

1st encore: Iron Man by Black Sabbath (Ed on ukulele), Soon Forget, Given To Fly, Once, Crown Of Thorns (by Mother Love Bone), Comatose, Alive

2nd encore: Why Go, Baba O'Riley (by The Who), Yellowledbetter

besides the iron man thing, they've been playing the rest of these covers for years. interstellar goes back to 98, crown of thorns - 2000, Baba has to go back to at least 94-95.

from what i've read, this was a pretty emotional show because it was their first large festival since the roskilde incident.
