  1. fantastic show. On at exactly 8:15 off at 10:30 (which is the cut-off for all Celebrate Brooklyn shows.) Soaked but happy, great crowd! I'm sure someone will post the setlist soon. Goin' back tomorrow night--Jeff promised to play mostly different songs :)

  2. I got two tickets for Montclair Saturday, no problems at all, I also got in about 9:58. But, I gotta say the service plus shipping charges were outrageous, $10 for service plus another $10 for shipping (UPS shipping only!). Oh well, not really complaining (well, complaining about Front Gate!) but I am really psyched as I missed the last NYC show at Keyspan as I was away. Whoo-hoo!

  3. if you do decide to go, or if it matters, know that the pool is very relaxed atmosphere and you can sit on the pool steps, or the edge of the pool and still enjoy the show.

    good health!

Thank you, and thanks for that info, I was wondering about that--have never been to the pool before. I am still undecided...I feel pretty good but I have some stitches which will make for uncomfortable standing for a long time or sitting on the ground. Dancing is definitely out :ohwell Also a bit worried about being jostled in big crowds (ouch.)

If this were a reserved seating event I would definitely go.

  4. Here's the deal--I had to have pretty major surgery this week and I am just not sure if I will feel up to going to the show, especially since its standing and no chairs allowed. But I may not decide until Tuesday (I see my surgeon monday). I've been waiting for this show for so long and really want to go! :ohwell but it just may be too much.

So, I wanted to give a heads-up and see if there are any folks out there looking for two tix that may be last minute (face value, of course--got them through the presale so its $103.40 for the two.)

The only other hitch is that you would have to come pick them up in Brooklyn (Windsor Terrace or possibly Park Slope). PM me or email jzinn@jczinn.com if you are interested. I will bump this once I've decided for sure.

  5. Well I THINK I got tix...just back from Nola and Jazzfest....managed to get through by phone at 11 am Nola time. What an anxiety-provoking experience going through all those prompts, no human to talk to! :stunned At one point I thought I accidentally disconnected, fortunately it came back and asked me to repeat the entry! I have a confirmation number, but the charge still doesn't show on my credit card. I'll believe it when I see the charge go through. Since they never asked for my email, I won't get an email confirmation.

Keeping fingers crossed all is well!

As an aside---Jazzfest was fabulous fun (my first time there) although we got drenched on Saturday! Only wish I could have been there the year Wilco played..

  6. NOLA! That's funny. I had the same problem last year when I was headed down to New Orleans for French Quarter Fest. My flight was supposed to land around when the puyblic onsale started for the Hammerstien shows. Then my flight was delayed but we had a stop over in Dallas so while in Dallas just as we got off the plane I whipped out my cellphone and called up and after all the automated prompts, I got my tickets. So it is possible. McCarren Park is a huge venue so there is a good chance that you can do that. You might even benefit from calling a Ticketmaster number that is not 212 or 718 because everyone in NYC will be doing that. I hope you can get tickets and I'm jealous that you are down in NOLA for jazzfest. If I could I'd go down there once a year. Its such a great city. Good Luck!!!

That's just too funny, what a coincidence!

Well, I have a plan in place--a friend in California is going to try and get pre-sale tix for me, if she fails, then I will try by phone on Friday via Ticketmaster. Hopefully she won't go on a crazy spending spree with my credit card number, :o . I hope that replacements and remphish1 are right and it won't sell out immediately--it is a big place and all GA so many may not feel they have to scramble to get in the first rush (one hopes!) Anyway I have decided not to fret over it too much, somehow I will be there by hook or by crook I am just so happy they are playing NYC this tour because for awhile there it looked like they wouldn't be.

  7. Pre-Sale begins Wednesday, April 23 via Music Today.

Public On Sale begins Friday, April 25 @ 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster

The Ticketmaster site actually says the public onsale starts at NOON on Friday! Which to believe? I have a real problem because I will be in an airport during the presale, flying down to New Orleans, and on Friday morning I'll be at Jazzfest. I am kinda tearing my hair out trying to figure out how I'm gonna get tix. :angry If the Ticketmaster sale is really at 10 (9 Nola time) I can probably find some internet cafe but by noon I'll definitely be at the fest.

Arrrgh the sale timing couldn't be worse for me! I may have to resign myself to StubHub, but I can't miss this show in my home town of Brooklyn!

I suppose I could try by phone from Nola, has anyone ever suceeded in getting tickets by phone? I just tried a test and got lost in a warren of automated responses.

    signed,

tearing out her hair in Brooklyn!

  8. DEAD crowd. The band was just going thru the motions. Red Bank energy was so much better. Too many people tonight were there to be seen vs seeing the band. Typical pretentious hipster crowd. How many people were going to get drinks, bathroom, talking, etc. UGH

huh? Were we at the same show? Everyone around me was dancing, singing, screaming at times, and generally having a blast. I thought the crowd was really great and no one (at least around me) was talking or being horribly obnoxious (as was the case at the MSG NYE show.) I was pretty far towards the back too.

anyway I thought it was great, fifth time I've seen them and this was probably one of the top two; lots of energy and I'd give a million dollars to get a ticket for Warsaw! (well.....if I had a million, I'd give it.)

  9. arrrgh well that was an exercise in futility. 10:02 sold out--it seemed like I waited forever to get through, the site must have been bombarded (and I'm on a T-1 line here!)

I'd be more upset if I didn't have Hammerstein tix. Still...would have so preferred to see them in my home town of Brooklyn! (And I won't be able to be online for the tix at the box office.) Oh well, Hammerstein it is!

  10. Be still my beating heart! Hammerstein here we come. Why are these things so nerve-wracking!?

One question, does anyone know what the .55 cent "optional charge" was? I was so anxious about making a mistake that I just checked it, but I have no idea what it was for....I figured what's another dollar!

  11. Pretty please can someone PM me with the link?

Although this is going to say its my first post, it really isn't....for some reason I had to re-register when I tried to access the forum this weekend. I swear, I'm really not a newbie! ;-) Just haven't posted in a long while!

    thanks I'll be forever grateful...
