  1. I used to work at Trader Joes and Wilco would get played there all the time. Not an unusual place to hear Wilco I guess. At least less random than say at Jewel or Dominicks. They had XM and a few of the "approved stations" for during business hours, one of wich is the station that is played at Starbucks I think, played Wilco a lot. Plus, on the Starbucks note, they were selling SBS for a while this summer, at least at the one in my neighborhood, so not too random to hear it there either I s'pose. I would venture a guess that a lot of big businesses are going the satellite radio route, so that could possibly explain the occaisional Wilco or Decemberist tune in JC Penney's or Wal-Mart or other inexplicable places.

  2. i thought that was supposed to be in the Paste interview, which i've yet to find...

The article in Paste is just a quarter page blip about them playing Bonaroo this year. If I had it with me I'd type it out right now. If some one else doesn't I'll do it next time I'm on in the next couple of days. He does mention meeting Bob Dylan and compares it to him being the Chris Farley character who did the bad interviews "Remember when you were Bob Dylan... That was awesome." Pretty funny. Otherwise he just talks about playing festivals and how he is more comfortable with that now.

  3. I saw them summer of '95 at Horde too. My friend worked at a local record store in the south suburbs of Chicago and had been playing AM a lot for a few months. They were on a side stage and if I am remembering things right, (too much pot in my 20's), there was only a handful of people watching them. Weirdly, while I can barely remember being there I do have it burned in my brain that Jeff was wearing a red t-shirt. We were pretty close to the stage and singing along and Jeff was sort of smiling at us. It was cool. I was only just getting into them, so the experience at the time wasn't as monumental as it would have been now, or even a year later. We saw them again later that year (I think) at the Vic and that show stands out a lot more.
