  2. I can't wait for the recording to become available. The show was just absolutely smokin right out of the gate. I was directly in front of Nels in the third row and just had the time of my life rockin my arse off to, IMHO, the best band in town- period.

The setlist was just great- I had my wishlist going in, but have zero complaints on what I did not hear because they delivered the goods BIG TIME!!

I started seeing Wilco in 94, and just am amazed how much more incredible they get with every show. I could have hung on every note- ah, the musical bliss that is Wilco :worship

Also, finally got to meet Jeff- got a pic and autograph and a couple of good laughs out of him as well :thumbup

Wish I could do VA as well today, but I have a feeling this post show glow will keep me happy until the next time.

  4. Yeah, please do not distribute mp3's. That's a major slap in the face to the trading community who thrive on keeping music in lossless formats.

Instead of putting up crap like that, create freebies or do B&P's for people.

This is the recording I dl'd from etree a while back:

notes*awesome crowd participation during 'Is That The Thanks I Get' !*Cain's bouncing wood floor made for a very noisey recording (especially with all the cowboy boots)*I had to crank the gain because I was in front of the PA - thus more handling noise*cell phone cameras, digital cameras, and even an SLR (during "Blue Eyed Soul") can be heard snapping away - very annoying & rude*the crowd rushed the stage during the second encore - all of a sudden there is a lot more aud & cameras & drunken idiot cowboys*wonderful old school venue w/ a picture of Acuff Rose hanging on the wall / w/ very cool owners*Tulsa home of Bob Wills & the Texas Playboys*the famous Sid Vicious punched a hole in the wall backstage in '78 (photo included)enjoy

  5. Hey all,

Long time listener, first time poster to this board. I've had a monogamous relationship with another board, and I decided to play the field :blink

Anyhow, I've most of the reviews on this thread and appreciate and respect the efforts of all reviews of Sky Blue Sky.

I'm now at the ripe old age of 36 and Sky Blue Sky really represents right where I am in my life in a musical and spiritual sense.

Everything they done since A.M has been built in waves- building up to the crest and coming back down again to the water, but still above the deluge of other notes drowning in the sea.

It doesn't take a night of listening to "get it." You're either on the bus or not. Each song more than holds its own. Nels' approach to the melody is just unreal- he gives a texture so much more than I ever thought possible.

Jeff has got to happier than a pig in shite with this release. DREAMBAND!! :worship
