  1. yall may have gone over this before, but I didnt see it on the boards. I'm not much of a guitar player, but I try and I'm learning. So far Ive only played songs with standard tuning, well, b/c, thats all I know how to do. Ashes of American flags, handshake drugs, california stars, etc. Could someone, in a simple manner, please go over just a couple of the common tunings jeff uses for some of the less advanved songs. i.e., open d,, drop d, etc. by simple manner, I mean, what should my tuner indicate when I pluck the strings? Thanks guys!

  2. Is there ANY WAY to get this NOT in this torrent format? I seriously have tried, I just dont have the skill or the luck, or the proper equipment or something that is required in order to get those torrents! Now, I usually just survive on what I can find, the records, and the "Roadcase" on the website. However, when something like this comes along, I dont mind resorting to begging! Anyone? Please help! While I'm here, if you havent gave it a listen, the 5/17/08 show from St. Louis is up on their website (so are the other two from St. Louis), and it is wonderful!!! Actually it's 4:43am and I'm listening to the 2nd to last song on the list right.....it's going to be a sleepy day at work since I need to be up in 3 hours and 16 minutes! Okay that's all, but sosmeone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me find a way to get this most recent living room solo show!!!!! Thanks a ton in advance!

  3. you can get some pretty nice sounding stuff with basic chords, some hammerons and a capo if you got one, but like allen iverson says...practice, practice

"you talkin about practice...not a game, practice" sorry i had to keep the iverson quote going! yeah ive been practicing a lot, im a prefectionist at most things, and i get so pissed when i accidently mute like one string in an entire song....ive got to relax a little and just go with it, and im sure i could play more than i think! i know what yall are talking about with the regular chords with hammer-ons, one song that comes to mind is "radio king".....isnt the main portion of that just a G with the index finger hammering the A string? and yeah ive got a capo, i plan to work on "jesus, etc." today. i havent looked at the tabs for the new record, but there is so much piano its hard for me to pick out a good guitar song. id love to hear jeff play "side with the seeds" solo so i could get a clue as to how to get started with that. after hearing jeff's story behind the lyrics to "sky blue sky" i love that song, but agian, not really something i can wrap my mind around breaking down alone. if anyone has some time, name some songs that would be good for me to use in practice, i tend to get stuck playing the same song, my fingers get trained to go only one way! i need about 5 to switch between each day.

  4. hey yall, i can play some super easy jeff solo songs like "pick up the change," and "misunderstood," but im trying to improve with my guitar (aucoustic), and would like some tips for songs that are a bit more difficult but nothing out of the beginer range! it would be super cool if yall could think of some songs with not to hard intros or riffs that you could point me too....like i mentioned in another post, my skill level would best be described by saying that im absolutly jamming if i make it through the intro to "sweet home alabama." not very good i know, but im trying to get better!!!!!

    thanks agian,

  5. im a complete amatuer with no musical ability, but i love TRYING to play jeff solo songs on my aucostic guitar, but i have to mostly stick to songs like "misunderstood" and "pick up the change." anyway, what im getting at is ive always dug "was i in your dreams" and want to play it, but those intro's and riffs are a bit over my head! the chords are no problem. does anyone have any tips for a starting finger position or maybe some shortcuts that would make it still sound decent for someone of my ability. what are some songs jeff plays solo that i can have fun with without being much of a picker? i want to play some things other than just chords, so i guess im asking which songs have semi-easy riffs that wouldnt drive me nuts trying to play, and if someone could direct me to them. i dont need anything crazy easy like "misunderstood," im trying to improve by playing slightly harder songs, but the riffs here are still a bit over my head! my skill level would be be described by saying that im absolutly jamming if i get through the "sweet home alabama" intro, which i know is childs play for most of yall! anyway thanks for any help....actually im going to start a new thread for this so i can stay out of yalls way. it will be entitled "good starter songs." thanks a ton for yalls kindness and help!
