  1. That link to etree from the WilcoBase setlist sez it's SBD.

I just downloaded it, it sounds like an AUD. Sounds like it's in the next room.

Thanks for the info, folks. :D

I just checked the etree link, owl, and two users have labeled it as AUD. Of course, all the users have labeled it as having great sound quality, so we can't really know for sure what exactly the source.

Anybody have any information on this? I found it on a torrent site, but before I download it, I wonder what the fuck it is? The first thing I notice is that, despite the evidence that it is in fact a 2004 bootleg, few songs from YHF or AGIB are played, so I doubt that year is wrong. The second thing I notice is that some songs are mislabeled and others are complete news to me.

So has anyone heard or seen this?

  3. Do you mean Jeff Tweedy solo? If so, then it's a regular song for many of his live, solo acoustic shows.

Do you mean full band? If so, a version is on both the Yankee Hotel Foxtrot Demos as well as the Yankee Hotel Foxtrot Engineer Demos. There is no overlap between either of these compilations. Or, if you want a live, full band version of the song, it's in a few live bootlegs.

All three of these possibilities have been posted by Via Chicago Forum user owl on his site, The Owl & The Bear. At least a few of the several bootlegs posted have that song on them, both in the Wilco category as well as the Jeff Tweedy category.

By the way, the song is also known as "Laminated Cat", and Tweedy brought it back for the opening cut on the first Loose Fur record, with Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche. Sometimes this is how it is listed on bootlegs, although my personal rules for naming go like this:

If three or more Wilco members plays it, I label it "Not For The Season".

If Jeff Tweedy plays it alone, I label it "Not For The Season".

If Loose Fur plays it (Tweedy, Kotche, and Jim O'Rourke), then I label it "Laminated Cat".

If Tweedy and Kotche play it alone, I label it "Laminated Cat".

  4. The "Spiders" from Eugine is kick-ass! I already have the whole show (some of the best engineering I've heard on a live show) and it works really, really well.
