  1. This is the solo debut from the lead singer of Lucero. Its a mini album (7 songs) based around the novel Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy. It features Ben on acoustic guitar, Rick Steff on accordion, and Todd Beane on pedal steel.

The actual hard copy should be around soon, but if you preorder at luceromusic.com it will direct you to an immediate download after purchasing.

I am very impressed with this. There wasn't much doubt in my mind that I would dislike it, but this is exactly what I wanted a Ben Nichols solo album to sound like. Also just having acoustic guitar, accordion, and pedal steel was a great choice.

  3. I live in LR and the Robinson, I think, is a really really cool place on the outside, but once you go in its alright. The front of the building is a big building with columns and a bunch of steps. The theatre inside is kinda boring. Not much character inside, but it sounds great in there. I highly recommend coming down. Little Rock is a great place to stay for a night or two. Everything fun is within a short walking distance from Robinson as well many hotels.

  4. Any idea when the show, whether it's in Snowden or the GPAC, will go on sale? I'd prefer the GPAC because it's ten minutes from my apartment and the acoustics are wonderful. I was at the Ryan Adams show, too. Fantastic performance, but I would've liked an encore. Alas.

the show in dallas has a presale (non-wilco presale) next week on the 20th. So I figure a batch of presales maybe wednesday or thursday of next week.

  5. Little Rock :dancing That is awesome, Venue is pretty nice. Seats around 1700 i think. Norah Jones just played there.

Oh and I noticed a flyer last night at the Ryan Adams show, pretty sure the snowden show will be move to the GPAC in germantown unless I read the flyer wrong.
