This has probably already been covered but is this a straight concert filmor is it a documentary (like with interviews, backstage stuff, etc.)?
Is it one show or a complilation?
Whether its a compilation or one show, I'm hoping it will be the "live album" I wish Kicking Television had been. (Sorry, I think KT was too much Ghost is Born).

The Who - "Blue, Red & Grey" - (Actually its a ukelele - with a few soft horns by Entwhistle).

Don't forget - Poco: DeLIVEring!!

Please help by voting early and often for The Whigs in MTVu's weekly music video poll for "The Freshmen". This is a band you would like a lot (assuming you like garage rock) and they are nice guys (from Athens) to boot.
Many thanks!

Dave Letterman liked them - "Power trio, huh Paul?.."
Thanks!

I always thought "IATTBYH" was the filme "Let It Be" wishes it had been.

Just saw this - Great news.
Its sad (to me) that many people know nothing of the Big O besides "Dock of the Bay".

great article. i guess i love bruce more than his music. have tried for years, but just can't seem to get into it. of course i was unintentionally burned out with born in the usa era bruce b/c of top 40 radio in the 80s. i think that scarred me.
anyway, i think i am gonna head downtown when he plays atlanta and try to get a cheap ticket after the show starts. anyone have any luck doing this before?

Altough Bruce has an amazing recorded catalogue (most fans think BITUSA is his weakest album), he is one artist that has to be seen in concert to fully appreciate.
Do not miss him in Hotlanta - it will change your life.

They also have a gallery of illustrations that I think is just gorgeous: http://www.npr.org/music/liveconcerts/2008...lery/index.html
You're right - those are awesome.
"Dad rock?!" I resemble that remark...

NPR is going to post an archive of the show "shortly". I recorded the show last night but I'm worried about the levels (too quiet at first, too loud at end). Will listen to it this weekend and if its OK, I'll start a CD tree. If its bad, I'll re-record from the archive and post later.

Ok guys, I know its easy to hate on Bob Boylen, the announcer, he is pretty lame.BUT he loves this band - why do you think this is the 3d time the show has featured them.
-
Boylen said he would "post" this interview later so it will probably be a podcast or something downloadable.
-
They are playing this waiting for showtime. Boylen said they would come on at 9:00

I was sitting in the Hollywood Hawaiian Hotel
I was staring in my empty coffee cup
I was thinking that the gypsy wasn't lyin'
All the salty margaritas in Los Angeles
I'm gonna drink 'em up
And if California slides into the ocean
Like the mystics and statistics say it will
I predict this motel will be standing until I pay my bill
Don't the sun look angry through the trees
Don't the trees look like crucified thieves
Don't you feel like Desperados under the eaves
Heaven help the one who leaves
Still waking up in the mornings with shaking hands
And I'm trying to find a girl who understands me
But except in dreams you're never really free
Don't the sun look angry at me
I was sitting in the Hollywood Hawaiian Hotel
I was listening to the air conditioner hum
It went mmmmmm..

Is that why they call it "The 9:30 Club"?
It's difficult to say...
-
Several Wilco songs popped up on Friday Night Lights this season. (Sniff) I think its gone for good unless another network picks it up.
-
What time is it gonna start?
The NPR thingy said "around 9:00".
-
Feb. 24, 2005 and Oct. 19, 2006.
-
NPR's All Thnings Considered will be streaming Wilco's 2/27 show from the 9:30 Club. This is the 3d time so looks like it will be a regular event everytime they play D.C.

In this day and age, why the hell hasn't Wilco put out a commercially produced concert DVD? Would the Residency shows not present a pretty good opportunity?

I swear if they do What Light and Hummingbird, I'll throw up....

Total trash - but historic trash, at least.

Read that entire thread and didn't really see any addressing my questions. Did get fully briefed on the raging Blu-Ray debate, though.
