I believe there are campgrounds AT Look Park, which is where the Pines Theatre is located. If you get on 91, off exit 18 to Northampton Center, there are a lot of cool unique record shops, boutiques, and lots of restaurants to choose from. I'm not much of a hiker, but I've heard Mt. Tom in nearby Holyoke, MA. is decent for a day. I hope this helps you out.
