I loved Jeff's answers, both the thoughtful, serious ones and the funny ones. One of my favorite exchanges was when someone asked him how he maintains a personal, intimate connection with his fans now that the fanbase is so much larger. He said:
I only worry about maintaining the personal and intimate connections I have with my family and friends and stay somewhat removed from the notion of fans. More of an abstract thing. Till I meet you then I hope we're just two people.
That was my question. I stayed up super late to contribute to the Q&A (I live in the UK), and I'm thankful Jeff took a moment to reply.
I appreciate his answer: it's honest, and it helps me clarify some other recent thoughts. It also leads me to additional questions, not all of which I'm super excited about.

Yohansen5b,
Thank you so much for your research. I was able to find a copy from the original printer. He had a spare copy. I am excited. I lost a bunch of concert prints but this was the hardest find of them all.....and definitely my favorite. There was good news that came out of losing my home. My record collection which has numerous Wilco first pressings was left untouched. Those may have been a bit tougher to replace.
Dude, I'm super happy to hear the update. What luck the printer had a spare. Glad I could help!
-
Hey, dude. Sorry to hear about your house. I'm glad to hear you're ok.
I did some research. I think the poster you're looking for is this one, from the 24 & 25 November 2006 shows at the Auditorium Theater in Chicago. It is, unfortunately, sold out in Wilco's own online store. It appears the poster has been unavailable since at least 2010, when someone was trying to find a print on Gig Posters. Someone in that thread briefly claims they might have some; their website now redirects to tumblr and facebook. It's a long shot, but you might be able to find some there. Beyond that avenue, you might have to spend some cash to convince someone to part with a print.
It's a gorgeous print and I'm sorry to hear yours was lost. I hope you have luck finding a replacement.

...these were Hatch show posters. I believe the shop told a few people that visited Saturday to get to the show early as the ones for sale at the show were the only was that would be available.
True. These sold out both nights within like 30 minutes of doors opening.
It's also enormously frustrating to see a bunch of drunk people at the end of the show with one of the posters in hand, crinkled, bent, beer stained, and generally destroyed or otherwise fucked up. But hey, that's me.
-
Also, Jeff's discussion on Saturday night's show was hilarious. The smell of vomit, a woman in the front row passed out with her chin on the stage, people slung over the balcony. Both Jeff and Lowe commented on how uniquely crazy the crowds were; a performer's dream.
-
Let's, uh, chalk it up to autocorrect and move on from this slight embarrassment of mine...
Also, did they only make like two dozen of the posters? Both nights, the person right in front of me bought the last one. I get that sometimes these things become collectables (see also: solid sound posters made on site) but the competition is a bit irksome when all I want to do is get a poster and watch Wilco bring the house down.

Hello, again, everyone. Here's the setlist I took. Let me know if I goofed anything. Stuff in quotes are memorable banter.

* = I would go to tremendous lengths to listen again to Nels solo during Impossible Germany. One of the best solos I've seen maybe ever. Flawless.
I thought tonight's show was perhaps one of the top 3 I've ever seen Wilco put together. The crowd was full of energy, the band looked like they were having a blast, the venue sounded so damn good. A really special night.

Hi, everyone. I have one extra ticket to tonight's (2 October) show at the Ryman. I'm selling for face value BUT will give priority and a discount if you have an extra poster from last night's show (1 October, Ryman) you'd sell me.
The only trick is you'll be rocking out next to me. The extra seat is in the main floor, row v, at the aisle. Let me know!

Hi, everyone!
I have one ticket for Saturday's (01 October) show at the Ryman in Nashville. I'm looking for an additional ticket to that night's show. I will trade you your two tickets for my one ticket plus cash to make up the difference. I'll even throw in a beer at the show to say thanks.
My one seat is located on main-floor 3, Row T, seat 4.
Thanks!

Notes---
Excellent night. A good amount of change from the DC show the night before. I didn't notice any environmental distractions (ie: trash bag change out) and the crowd was really great. Dreamer in my Dreams was off the PA, completely acoustic; it sounded fantastic. There were a lot of treats with old Uncle Tupelo songs. I didn't notice any 'oops' in any songs; everything was right on target all night long. Gun was an especially great closure to the evening.
Again, I noticed someone in the balcony with a taping set-up. Hopefully they have it online soon.

Passenger Side (with The Autumn Defense)
California Stars (with The Autumn Defense)
Acuff Rose
Notes:
------
ELT was the most requested song from the website. There were only a couple of flubs, notably in Mountain Bed. However, Jeff commented the song wasn't on the original set list. Pieholden Suite was a real treat as I don't recall that song played live very often. The biggest highlight for me was Acuff Rose: Jeff unplugged his guitar, walked to the edge of the stage, and sang without a microphone. The theatre was stone quiet and the tune was gorgeous.
The crowd, from my seat, was pretty quiet the entire show. I saw one of the concert staff tell someone to turn off their camera but no other major offenses. The biggest complain I have was someone decided to change all the trash bags in the balcony during How to Fight Loneliness and I'll Fight. It took them about 5 minutes and a lot of rustling. People started yelling at the person to stop and I think Jeff figured people were yelling requests from the balcony.
I also saw someone taping from the back. Hopefully the recording pops up online soon.
I'll see you in Charlottesville!

Another great show tonight. My 4th time seeing the band, and while not the best (DC night 1 in February takes that cake), it was still a lot of fun. As said, the show was really loose, and the band was having a lot of fun. The "It's Just That Simple" "Forget The Flowers" "Box Full Of Letters" run was fantastic and unexpected, and "Via Chicago" sounded fantastic. Jeff noticeably flubbed on "Jesus Etc" and after the song said he lost his place because he's really been into The Wire recently and was wondering if Omar was at the show.
-
I love that Jeff praised her for her accuracy.
not only that but jeff seemed genuinely embarrassed.
for those who weren't there or didn't see, about 5 songs from the end of the show, these three girls pushed their way all the way to the front. they were about 3 people back from the stage, right next to me. at first, i thought them annoying. all they wanted to do was mainly scream at every opportunity. but, when the band kicked in to heavy metal drummer, two of the girls started yelling at the first "do it! do it now!" i saw them out of the corner of my eye helping the other girl do something. then, as jeff sings, she flings her bra hitting him square in the chest. to throw a bra from 10 yards away and hit her target so well while being rather intoxicated was pretty impressive.
-
great, great show. none of the really crazy fun stuff...i'm hoping that's tomorrow. i'm so giddy for it!
i was in the center front, about 3 people back from the stage -- were there any of you there?
i was also next to the very drunk girl who took off her bra and threw it (surprisingly accurate) at jeff during 'heavy metal drummer.'

does anyone know who is opening?? merriweather's site says "Low and More!". anyone have any idea who could fill the "more" spot?
