We travelled from Sunderland UK to see Wilco in Amsterdam as an anniversary trip, despite all the problems with the airline pulling out of newcastle and having to return via Leeds it was well worth it.
Paradiso is a great venue, small enough to be intimate but big enough to rock and the crowd - a very mixed age range, were brilliant and the band fed off the noise and enthusiasm to play what was in my humble opinion, one of the best gigs ever! Up there with Neil in 76 at Hammersmith Odeon and on this form only NY and Crazy Horse on top form can come close! Wilco were that good.
It was the first time we ahve managed to see them after trying for years and it was great to chat to some of the fans. Hello to the Chigago gang - as well as getting "A sign" from Jeff I also struck lucky with Nel's guitar pick! Enjoy your tour of Europe - Take a look at Picasso's "Guernica" at the Reine Sofia while you are in Madrid - War on War in pictures!
