  1. Lots of Summer shows are being announced these days, but I haven't picked up the slightest clue as to whether Wilco will be on the road in the States this Summer. Actually, that may be the clue that they are not, but I was hoping someone may have some good information to suggest that they are. Anyone?

Go to Wilcoworld.net and find out where they are touring now and where they will be for the rest of this year. They actually are working on a new record, which has me slightly excited.

  2. there's 4-5 great songs on Evil Urges, but it's far and away their worst album.

honestly the band has been sliding slowly downhill since At Dawn. which is unfortunate because they're still pretty amazing live

Since "At Dawn?" Are you NUTS!!! MMJ have gone nowhere but UP since At Dawn. I think Evil Urges to be their best album. A close one, with It Still Moves, which is a classic.

    Again. You Sir, are nuts.

  3. I know that this sounds completely unrealistic and silly, but hey....You Never Know! Back in the day, bands used to have an address that you can send fan mail to or at least some way of possibly reaching them. Now in this Future Age, with all of this technology, it ironically seems like it's even harder to actually get a message, or in this case a question, to the band.

Here goes...my wife & I are travelling up from LI to Wappinger Falls on Saturday 7/18 for the show. Coincidentally it just happens to be our 10th Wedding Anniversary! I would be willing to pay the band to play a song to surprise my wife. Our wedding song is "True Love Ways" by Buddy Holly. Not only could they learn it in about 5 minutes, but it would be great to hear the band perform a new cover song anyway; especially a Buddy Holly tune.

I've been racking my brain for romantic ideas to surprise my wife with and this seems like a winner....I just wish there was a way to pull it off. I know it sounds crazy and it's probably a precedent the band wouldn't want to start, but hey, it's a business proposition. I just need to know the price and a way to get the request to them. Anyone have any feedback? No need to flame me too hard about this; I know it's a nutty idea, but you only live once. Might as well throw it out there.

    Cheers!

Did you fill out the request a song form on thier webpage? Maybe you can send a note, and let the band know what you can offer them for playing this song.

  4. I'll be rolling in from Lancaster. About 10 of us heading down from Amish Country in a Philly Eagles short bus....burgers and dogs before the show!!!

What part of Lancaster are you from, Lancoman? I only ask, cause I grew up in New Holland, graduated from Garden Spot HS in 1997. I don't know any other Wilco fans from that area, other than my brother.

  5. I created a Wilco(The playlist) on my ipod, for me to listen to all their studio releases in order as they were released (including all official b-sides, soundtrack songs, mermaid ave records, loose fur releases), to excite myself for the show in DE I am going to (my first!) and the release of the new album. I hope to coincide the listening of Wilco (The Album) with the receiving of the vinyl, but the mp3s might have to do, if I don't have the vinyl in hand the day it is released. (or in the order when I am ready for it.)

Anyway...have any of you guys ever done this? If not, you should.

Listening to 'Wishful Thinking' right now.

  6. I'm still loving SBS. I could go for a SBS2. Or outtakes or something of the type. I can't get enough. Perfect record.

On my Ipod I put One True Vine to open the album and Thanks I Get to close it. Even better.
