It really ruined my first Wilco show (Mountain Winery 2009) when people were bitching about those of us who were standing. Going to the recent San Jose show, with the GA pit felt like redemption.
-
Yeah, I wish I hadn't read that they had more songs to play. It's not a bad venue, and we need them in San Jose, but having a curfew sucks and I'm not sure why they have one in the first place. I still had a great time though.

Sure it's that for SF? Only reason I ask is because SJ, Oakland and Davis are all APE presales, and SF is KFOG/Goldenvoice, so thought it might be different...
Yeah, I just checked again and all four dates are listed on the email, which is from APE. But I also just got the KFOG email, and they have the password down as 'tweedy', for SF, SJ, and Oakland.
Just to be safe, I would check the Warfield's Facebook/Twitter.

Just got the email. Password for San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, and Davis presales is LOVE
Starts tomorrow (thursday) at 10am

I think I'll be getting the APE password in an email soon, and The Warfield is apparently going to put theirs on Facebook? In any case, I'll post them unless sharing passwords is frowned upon here

I got in finally, hang in there.

I'm stuck in the Waiting Room now for the California presales.
While I'm here I might as well ask...do will call tickets get early entry into the venue?
-
heck, Davis is only 1-2 hrs away from the Bay Area, depending on where you live. Go for the foursome!
You know, I'm actually a UC Davis alum, and I've never been to that theater which I probably funded somehow. Seriously considering it!

I've never seen a band hit San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose on the same leg of a tour! I'm gonna try to go to all three.

Carla Bozulich (with Nels) opened a show in San Jose that I had tickets for but couldn't attend
Perhaps the most fateful Wilco opener ever?

Wine club VIPs and Wilco concerts don't mesh entirely well. We landed great 5th row seats through the pre-sale and were battling those yahoos up front all night. Especially the ones asking us to sit down during the first half...especially during Shot and ALTWYS. The guy insisted we were ruining others' experience by standing, till we told him he was ruining our experience so deal with it.
Yeah I had to deal with the same thing. I think I was 6th row, and I kept hearing some lady yell "SIT DOWN" from a few rows back during IATTBYH. I tried to ignore it, but then the usher came up next to me and asked "Can you please sit down for a while?" Now keep in mind there are five rows of people in front of me, and ALL of them were standing (and rightfully so) and if I sat down I wouldn't be able to see. In retrospect I should have refused, but instead I made some comment about it being "a fucking rock concert" and sat down for a couple songs. The people in front sat for a coupe slower numbers, but by the second half the show everyone was on their feet.
So the show was kinda ruined for me, a little bit. But otherwise it was fantastic.

Did Jeff play a solo set early in the day? This is from the rollingstone.com article about the show
Sunday opener Jeff Tweedy of Wilco also found a receptive audience of 10,000 for such classics as -
OK, here's that very short clip of the mystery soundcheck song. After googling the lyrics, it appears to be a cover of the song "I Want To Be Your Mama Again" by The Sir Douglas Quintet.
-
I think I've got a video clip of the new song. It's pretty short, 12 seconds. Should I upload it? There was a request by the emcee for us not to shoot any video of Jeff's peformance. Of course, that request was made AFTER the soundcheck

What time do you all suggest lining up for this to get a good spot? I only have one other experience at the Greek, which was Radiohead last year, and that line was crazy...it was all the way down to the street by 2pm

Even as someone who knows practically zero about the Dead, I was blown away by that.
