  1. My experience with SBS was that I liked the album very much, but after seeing them doing the songs live several times i appreciated it much more.

I'm hoping that is the case with WTA as well.

also recently noticed the Steely Dan flavor while listening to the AOAF audio in my car.

  2. Anybody ever been to the theater? What's it like? I've been through Rochester a few times by car and train but have never actually been there.

It's a really good theater. It'll be great for Wilco, smallish, good sound and it doesn't seem like there's any bad seats. It's the home of the Rochester Broadway Theater League so they do a lot of plays and stage shows there. It'll be great.

Skip the Garbage Plates and go visit the Great Great House of Guitars.

  3. Hurry indeed, I logged on to pre-sale at exactly 10:00 am and got two seats 18 rows back. WTF. I"m thrilled to have tickets, but it seems as though they blocked off half the seats in the auditorium. I've traveled all over the north-east and have been to four shows. Now they're coming to my hometown. Hopefully some of the better seats will get released later on.

Anyway, looking forward to a great show, welcome to Rochester everybody.

  4. I did indeed go to lolla and for the first time left a wilco show feeling underwhelmed. Wilco's live sets are what got me hooked. Lately I feel they've gotten a bit stale.

I wouldn't have to think twice about seeing jeff, nels or glenn solo but like I said the wilco live show seems to have gotten a bit stale.

I really can't agree with them being called stale, but after seeing and hearing these songs being executed flawlessly and without deviation so many times I would love to see them stretch out and be experimental even in a playful way.

i'm not complaining though, I'm still going to Toronto and New York.

  5. :worship Profound gratitude to the individual who so quickly posted the recording of the show. I don't know if you'll see this, but the quality is EXCELLENT, thank you.

BTW - I saw a car in the parking lot plastered with McCain sitckers and jesus fish. Seemed odd and out of place. Maybe the religious right has better taste in music than i had previously given them credit for.

    good for them.

  6. I cannot believe this. For the past 2 1/2 years I've been working literally directly across the street from Tanglewood. I just recently decided to move back to California in 6 weeks and then Wilco is booked to play Tanglewood in August. Ridiculous! Oh well, at least I got my tickets for Outside Lands festival already, but come on, Tanglewood?

To tell the truth, Wilco is one of the last bands that I would figure to play at Tanglewood. Aside from the annual James Taylor concert, it's mostly just Western Classical music played by the Boston Symphony Orchestra or the Boston Philharmonics. And then every 4th of July they get like a Leann Rimes or the New Cars, but Wilco, never thought it would happen.

Enjoy to all who can go. It is a great time of the year in the Berkshires

Would you care to make accomodation recomendations?

  7. This may seem like a dumb question to some of you, but...

I took a look at Etree, and it appears as though a tape of this show does indeed exist.

My question is, is it possible for someone who has never taped anything (and has nothing to trade) to obtain a copy of this recording?

I may have missed something while at the site (probably), if so please forgive me.

  8. Can anyone identify the sound clip that was playing as Wilco came on stage, it sounded like a 70's theme song but i couldnt place it.

Big Thanks to anyone who posts pix of this amazing show. This was my second Wilco show, and i was every bit as blown away by it as seeing them for the first time (in Boston 2005). I drove to Toronto from upstate NY and had to fight 8 hours of Canada Day traffic to get home, totally worth it.
