  1. How are there no tickets to either Wiltern show when they go on sale at noon (CST) and you try to buy at noon?! Not slow response, just a flat-out no tickets available?! Something seems amiss...

It's weird, too, because the ticket quantity drop-down box kept changing. Sometimes it was 4, sometimes 2, then 3. Something doesn't seem right.

  2. Actually, general admission is the best for the Wiltern because you're on the floor. All the reserved seats are on the balcony further away.

I couldn't get through at all during the pre-sale. I don't know if I like this new Front Gate company.

Yeah. No tickets were available when I refreshed at 10. I have a hard time believing that both presales were done by 10:00:27.

  3. I like the Wiltern. If you like having the option to sit (as I am wont to do at times), they have a nice loge and mezzanine. If you get there early enough, you can snag a front or second row seat and have a great view of the stage. The bar up there is never crowded and you don't have to worry about pushing your way back into the crowd. Also, the last few times that I've been to the Wiltern, they haven't let people upstairs if they have a "pit" wristband. The good thing, though, is that the pit wristbands go to fans in line, not just corporate guests.

My understanding is that the Pomona venue is a recently remodeled theater on the other side of the freeway from the colleges. It looks nice. The only downside is that it's in Pomona. I saw Ryan Adams in Claremont and the house was maybe 1/3 full (nice, intimate show), but both UCLA shows and the San Diego show were sold out. Could be a nice chance to see the band without having to deal with people who hold their noses when they have to go east of The Grove.

  4. I'll be on vacation in the LA area during the two LA shows and the Pomono show. I'm not sure where we're staying yet. I've never been to LA, and I'd like to catch one of them, but I don't know which one. Any suggestions? Thanks.

The Wiltern shows are fairly central to the greater LA area. The Pomona show is probably about 30-40 minutes east of downtown LA -- kind of a college town/suburbia. The Wiltern is a nice venue, very art deco, decent sound. I don't know much about the Fox Theatre in Pomona other than that it's an old theater that has been recently restored.

  5. I've got a pair of aisle seats for the LA Greek Theatre show. Section C, Row K, Seats 101-103. They're actually fanclub presale seats. I managed to get lower terrace seats during the public onsale. Face is $80 + ticketmaster fees, which brings them to $104. They're hard tickets.
