Thanks! I didn't take the photos - my friend did. But yeah, I love that shot too.

You're welcome. (And thanks!)
Interesting to hear his take on I Am Trying to Break Your Heart, and the thought behind this film.

Thank you - that's always great to hear!

The new State of Mind podcast is up for your listening pleasure. It takes you through the music featured in the current issue, which has a Nels Cline article, so part of it deals with him/Wilco.

So did everyone who requested the mag get it all right? What did you think of the read?
-
Actually, you guys can give me your address in the PM -- I don't need your email. I don't know what I was thinking.
Pickles: the way we keep the magazine free is through advertising, and so if I just post the article it kind of screws the advertisers over. Right now the mag is only in print form. Besides, there's something nice about holding it in your hand. Or am I the last one who thinks that? I still like getting albums over just digital files too. Oh well.

Yes, that's perfect.

I co-publish State of Mind, and there's a great piece on Nels in the new issue. Biased much? Ummm...yeah, but it IS really good.
State of Mind is distributed for free, mainly in the Northeast, but you can order single copies for $4, including shipping, and there are subs too. I can't mail out a bunch for free, but I will mail out copies to the first ten people who respond to this post. Just give me your email and I'll be in touch.
Hope you guys like it!

this is the wax from the actual candle. the wax from your ear should be stuck to the candle wax and is beige-colored and powdery - when the smoke breaks it down, it kind of vaporizes it.
That's disappointing.

Be sure to let us know how it goes for you, Tenderloin. I'm intrigued.

Ugh. Well, I'm glad you had a great time. Burlington, my adopted city, is indeed very pretty and has a wonderful vibe. And, you know, every once in a while Wilco plays. Not so bad! And Dylan played on that Sunday too. Wilco and Dylan in the same weekend? Yeahhhhhhh... I'm happy.

Thanks so much. 12 hours?!?! Wow. My drive in was 12 minutes. Either way, though, it was worth it. Which is nice...
-
Brianne, I also took a photo of the "no dancing in front of stage" sign. Too funny. Thankfully that wasn't enforced.

That is beautiful! I didn't see it at the show, so I just ordered it. Thanks for pointing that out. Can't wait to see it framed and on my wall....

What a night, what a show. Here's how I described it:
You know how when you picture an upcoming show that you're really looking forward to it's always sunny, not too hot, there's barely a drop of humidity in the air, and the band sounds amazing? Everything is just perfect, right? Of course, it doesn't always turn out that way. But on this day, it did, and we here at State of Mind would love to go back and relive the experience... but we can't. So here are some god damn photos. It's the best we can do.
