  1. Wilco and Frontgate blew it big time today... and the scalpers won again. Time for a better solution.

It's time to explain how this "waiting room" actually worked, how many tix were offered, how many users were shut out. There are better solutions to manage a queue of people waiting...solutions that have worked for events larger than Wilco shows.

  2. If any Frontgate/Wilco management peeps are reading this... presale was a total clusterfuck for Bay Area fans. No one I know got ANY tickets. The waiting room idea was a mistake; it would have worked if there had been a clearer explanation of what the selection process was. Please don't use this process again, as it was a total failure and you've empowered the scalpers again. The real fans are gonna pay to see the band, and there are FAR fairer ways to ensure that they get tickets.

I was in the waiting room by 950, was offered a search for Oakland tix by 1018, and they were gone. Searched the Warfield, same thing. I had about six other friends trying as well, all were screwed.

  3. That's a great attitude to take to your next show... pretty much guarantees that you will be surprised.

Due to a wonderful series of coincidences, I was able to catch the vancouver and berkeley shows in the same week. At vancouver, they pulled out their new version of "Too Far Apart," which seemed to raise the eyebrows of the folks around me, at least.

Later that week, in Berkeley, the setlist was completely different, and they pulled out "In A Future Age," not exactly burning up the lists at Wilcobase.

    Neither set resembled KickingTV...

I like the Robbie Robertson analogy, but pay more attention to Nels' playing... he'll push out your surprise every night.

  4. does anyone remember/ have the full setlist? By the way, this show was beyond incredible; the best three hours of my life. When they played Too Far Apart it was better than sex.

The real setlist is about halfway down the thread, the original blogger left out "hate it here."

Too Far Apart = Better than Sex? Yeah, it was good, but damn, get some perspective!

The voice, it was a little ragged, no?

  5. alright, i'm off. please introduce yourselves, i'll be near the front of the line with a blue jacket, and a maroon leather bag. HAVE FUN EVERYONE!!

That Blue Jacket didn't reference the Kinks, did it?

  6. i was wondering if anyone knew the history of all the people who have managed/helped manage wilco throught the years. i know Tony Margherita for sure, but this young guy i met claims to have been one of their managers up until recently. it sounded like bullshit to me, but i just wanted to make sure.

There is someone I know who worked for Tony for a while, and now works at High Road Touring, their agents... was this the person?
