  1. its a good album, the only songs im not digging so much are sunny feeling, wilco the song, and you never know.

    1. Wilco the song - very upbeat and fun. not a favorite but it will probably grow on me more. Good breakdown 8/10

    2. Deeper Down - Gorgeous song. Love the melodies. 9/10

    3. One Wing - One of my favorites, extremely beautiful lyrics accompanied by equally appealing harmonies. 10/10

    4. Bull Black Nova- Surprisingly hypnotic! Reminiscent of Spiders. Pat and Glenns breakdown's are very nice. 10/10

    5. You and I - Beautiful Duet with Feist, Lovely lyrics. Nice romantic song with a very mellow vibe. 9/10

    6. You never Know - Upbeat song with some nice backing vocals , dig the lyrics, and hope it grows on me more. 7.5/10

    7. Country Disappeared- Great slow jam! Love Tweedy hittin those high notes! Very melllow and beautiful. 9/10

    8. Solitaire- Great lyrics on this one.. Minimal percussion with a nice constant bassline, beautiful guitar work. 9/10

    9. I'll fight - nice and uplifting, a steady beat accompanied with beautiful guitar work from jeff, nels, and pat 9/10

    10. Sunny feeling - Happy go lucky song that is catchy but i cant put my finger on it, possible grower 7.5/10

    11. Everlasting - Very beautiful love song that rises and falls. love the melodies here and the lyrics. 10/10

  2. its so hard to pick, and i agree that it really does depend on your mood, so i'll pick my current fav song on each album

1 - Shouldve been in love

    2 - Misunderstood

    3- Summer Teeth

    4- Poor Places

    5- Company in my back

    6- Impossible Germany

and i know its not out yet officially but i love One Wing.

  3. ive had their albums for a while now but never really listened. recently ive listened to their last 3 albums and i have become a fan. my favorite album from them currently is Because of the times. its good soulful rockin stuff.

  4. I appreciate your points (I've read Kot's book twice and have since read several Tweedy interviews where he bemoans Kot's effort.

I think in viewing Hate It Here as straightforward, people fail to realize what a well-crafted R&B tune that is. Tweedy is poetic in how he can find depth and color in simple expressions, and the lyrics of that song manage to bring depth of emotion in pretty austere lyrics.

In Hate It Here, "I called your mom and she said you're not there ... and I should take care." Considering the circumstances that is one cold-assed line (mothers can say "fuck off" in the most eloquent ways).

i agree about hate it here. that song is somewhat simple lyrically but theres so much emotion in those lines "I try to keep the house nice and neat,do i made my bed ,i changed the sheets, i even learned how to use a washing machine, keeping things clean..doesnt change anything"

  5. SBS is fantastic, though it may not be their most progressive or inventive or even best album.

the song-writing is fucking solid, i can't understand how anybody, regardless of whether you like the album or not, can't see that.

i agree, the album is really fun to sing along to. and some of my favorite lines are on that album. im not gonna lie

on and on and on made me cry. those lyrics were so powerful.

  6. The song writing has definitely become more straighforward and so has their sound but i still love it.. IMO even though the songwriting isnt what it once was, there are plenty of beautiful lines "this is what love is for, to be out of place, gorgeous and alone, face to face"

  7. better quality, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsjCzx89uvM

im very excited! I love it already. sounds real nice lyrics and all. the more i listen, wowww. this song is beautiful.

We once belonged to a bird

cast a shadow on this world

    you were a blessing

    and i was a curse

did my best not to make things worse

    for you

    it isnt true

i always knew this would be our fate

this is what happens when we seperate

this happens to all dead weight

    now im too late

may as well be made of stone

    i cant be formed

one wing will never fly dear

neither yours or mine i fear

one wing will never ever fly dear

neither yours or mine i fear

    can only wave goodbye

  8. so i had a dream last night

that i met jeff.. and he was a pastor at a church! He was nice and i was very excited to meet him. and i remember him asking me if i go to church, and i said not really! and he said i should come to a service of his or something.. i cant really remember it all but it was a cool dream :) I've read about others encounters with jeff in their dreams on here so i thought i would add mine :)

  9. i completely agree. like i said before , YHF has such a subtle beauty that takes many many repeated listens to appreciate. And damn is it Beautiful.

It's amazing. I Love the atmosphere this album creates..

  10. finally grew on me, i love this song now.

so i decided to throw on YHF because it has been a long time since i've listened to wilco (because I was really close to getting burned out on them and I decided to take a break)

    and wow.

Radio Cure is an Amazing song. I used to dislike it..and I thought I'd never get into it.. AMAZING!

anyone else experience this with the song or any other song?

  11. I didn't like any Wilco record the first spin - including YHF.

But the second spin I started to 'get it'.

    Third spin - hooked.

Fourth time around I was addicted.

that only happened to me with AM and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot (and sorta Summerteeth but not really)

but with Sky Blue Sky and A Ghost is Born.. it was instant. Love at first listen :)

  12. ooo good question!!!

    Here we go

    1- You are my face

    2- Hummingbird

    3- Sky Blue Sky

    4- Say You Miss Me

    5- Summerteeth

6- A Shot in the Arm

    7- Red eyed and blue

    8- Pick up the change

    9- Pot Kettle Black

10- I am trying to break your heart

    11- Theologians

    12- I Must be high

    13- Red eyed and blue

    14- ELT

    15- Cant Stand it

    16- Heavy Metal Drummer

    17- IMPOSSIBLE GERMANY

oh and on evol79's idea of them doing one of the albums live! woww that is a tough one.. for me its

a toss up between YHF, SBS, AGIB,or Summerteeth.. those are the top 4. any of those and I would be thrilled outta my mind

AM or Being there would be nice too :)
