  1. My wife and i are generally not big on the whole Valentines thing. We usually exchange cards and get a bottle of wine and thats about all. Anyway this is the little message she wrote in my card today. I thought it was quite sweet and it made me laugh. She obviously knows how important the album is to me.

Thought i'd share it with y'all.

    My darling

When you wake up feeling old... and you think

    Nothingsevergonnastandinyourway... and you just

    Can't stand it

Remember i'm always in love, with you

    We're lovers, soul mates

    We're just friends

Life may make you feel you've been shot in the arm

    How do we fight loneliness?

In a future age could life and love become like

The sweet and thrilling taste of Candyfloss?

The candyfloss that rots those precious Summerteeth

    Ah. Those Summerteeth

    The Moon Smiles

    What a WONDERFUL woman.

  2. I think i was at the same festival!, it was one of the rainiest days ever , neil young was headlining, wasn't he? , i also got my "grand prix" cd signed and had a chat with them and the obligatory "Band with a fan" photo, what a great bunch of people they are.

thats the one. really lovely fellas.

neil and crazy horse ploughing thru like a hurricane in the pissing rain.

they dont hold it anymore. i really miss it

  3. wow thanks for the tip. id have to agree with you there. seen them several times myself and they are fantastic.

once saw them at the fleadh in finsbury park and met them afterwards(still got the signed mud soaked program). norman wanted to stroke my mates beard as it was the best ginger beard hed ever seen. 0ne of the best was an all acoustic gig at the underworld in camden. i seem to remember saws being involved at that one ...

  4. this to dexterismyhero,

ok i understand that your circumstances are different to mine and my heart goes out to you probably more than anyone else . i didnt mean to gloat. for the record im taking two days without pay and to be honest i dont really care. and no im not in an extremely well paid job. i just couldnt pass it up. some things are more important.

you know theyll be back at some stage. and they always play somewhere up north. they have played theyre fair share of gigs in the UK this year.

  5. ive just signed up to put my 2 bobs worth in.

i only found out about the cancelled shows a few days ago and needless to say i was absolutely gutted seeing as i had a ticket to the london show. ive been a fan since summerteeth came out and havent missed a show in the last 7 odd years.

ive only just got myself a computer and stumbled across this site by chance. ive read all the postings on this subject and i can sympathise as im in the same boat. yeah it sucks but as nearly everyone has pointed out there must be a damn good reason behind it. i know the band are great to their fans and i wont hear any different. whoever it was that referred to them as U2 should be strung up by their.........

anyway, having had myself a day off today i thought id skim the budget airlines to see what was on offer. my first thought was somewhere on the continent but then came across 0.01p flights to dublin on the dates in question. then i went to the ticketmaster website via the band website and found tickets still available for both shows at vicar st(although the 15th was supposed to be sold out). theres a hostel just down the road from the venue (and the guinness brewery is close by) which has dorm rooms for under a tenner.

im flying out of gatwick 10am thursday the 15th going to the final gig of Wilco's SBS tour and flying back the next afternoon to see ryan adams at thehammersmith apollo. should be some week. all you other hard done by fans should join me if you can (my wifes worried), especially if youve never seen em before. they really are the best bloody band in the world.

    cheers :thumbup
