  1. Does anyone have info about the Austin show? Specifically, if this will be standing room, GA?

I'm not sure about the venue and I can't find a lot of info on it other than it's at the university. The pics I could find were not very helpful.

Trying to figure out how early we need to et there.

    Thanks!

  2. Well...looks like I won't be able to make it to the fest

I just canceled my camping reservations at Clarksburg State Park, so if anyone is still looking for camping you should be able to get this site now through reserve america.

Anyone is still looking for a ticket? I can make you a good deal... PM me.

  3. Faxman:

"Don't overcrowd you campsite. Please limit site occupancy to four people or one family (parents and children 17 or under). Please limit site equipment to two tents or one trailer or RV and one tent. Also, please no more than two vehicles per campsite."

It was only a goolge click away :D

I just reserved my site at Clarksburg, if anyone hears back form the folks at windsor lake can you post some info, I'd rather stay there.

  4. Hey Ajax etc.

Did you ever decide on a player? I'm in the same boat you are/were in.

Looks like the Audio-Technica recommended has been discontinued, and replaced with this USB model, AT-LP120-USB

does anybody have experience with this one? Looks to me, like it's the same model just has a USB output :blush

  5. Wow, this is awesome news, considering this was the email response they sent me about a year ago:

Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, at this time, there is no plan to reissue Kicking Television on vinyl; just their complete studio albums. I will forward your suggestion on to others at the label to let them know of your interest.

    Sincerely,

    Nonesuch Records

I hope I can score one at my record store.

  6. What a great ending! I never watched this one all the way through because I thought it was the same old One Wing. I like the current version, but this one just seemed more raw to me... I especially like Pat and Glen tearing it up at the end. It's nice to hear Pat shredding, his style is so different the Cline's.

  7. In case anyone else was wondering.....Here is the response from Nonesuch after I inquired about the Kicking Television being reissued on vinyl... this was the only one I was looking forward to getting :ohwell

  8. For the sixth time tonight, why?

I've seen them several times too, including tonight. I feel that in smaller venues WILCO makes more of a connection with the crowd and there is more energy. I just felt like there was some distance between the crowd and the band, and I had really great seats and still felt this way. Maybe my seats were too close to really get the proper mix for the sound, and I could hear a noticeable echo from the back of the house. Coming from out of town I thought it was difficult to get to Cedar Park, and I was less than thrilled with parking. I had to go to guest services for a small matter and chatted with the manager a bit and we talked about parking and he said they normally charge 15 for parking, he said WILCO management got them to lower the price, kudos to them. I think the only thing I liked about Cedar Park the Venue (the band were top notch as always) were the roaming beer guys, that was cool.

  9. being there vinyl has never been that hard to find it always seemed to me.i decided a week ago to say fuck it and get the summerteeth vinyl, only 130 dollars.itll only get more expensive, never cheaper i reckon.

What makes an original album like summer teeth different than the reissue?

  10. No offense, but that's bullshit.

I'm 6'7 and this is always an issue. Honestly if I get their early to see a show, regardless of who it is, I'm highly unlikely to let a shorter person get in front because that just creates a domino effect. When people do ask me to move I politely decline and offer the option of them getting on my shoulders, chicks usually laugh it off and dudes get really pissed. These people will eventually slither around and find some acceptable spot. I really don't see what the big deal is, I have been to shows where bigger and taller people are in front of me and I don't bitch about it.

Of the four shows I have been to I haven't noticed any over the top rudeness by the crowd.

  11. The meat of the matter is that im going to this show. I'm going alone, so I only need one ticket. I will pay whatever price to whomever to get a sweet ticket in the front floor.

So whether it's through this site, ebay, scalper, massey hall or whatever, im getting a ticket.

I recommend stubhub.com, I got second row center for face value earlier this year, I couldn't believe it.

  12. For me, this is the album that really got me into WILCO. I think it holds up way better than the DVD or 930 shows, I think those are pretty bland compared to KT. I haven't listened to a lot of pre Nels boots but would love to hear some, not to hijack or anything, but what's a decent quality pre nels show to seek out? I really hope we get to see KT reissued on vinyl with all the other ones coming out.

  13. My friend and I were talking, and we were thinking this:

An album in which each member of the band writes their own song for the record, depending on their musical style and tastes and primary instruments. (Jeff would sing of course.) There would be at least six of these songs unique to the individual band members. I think this would be cool, especially considering the collaboration that they enjoyed so much in New Zealand. I picture Nels writing an avant garde guitar song, with playing that reflects his personal tastes...and so on... just a thought.

I think KISS did this or something similar.
