  1. Tweedy really did seem to be enjoying himself. The set was a bit all over (I was going bananas b/c the first 4 songs paralleled the Oct 1 show from the Ryman last year before At Last That's What you Said kicked in. That show is my personal high bar for them so far). Always love a Being There rocker finish. Personally, while I've seen Tweedy do it, I've never seen Wilco do Laminated Cat (which was rocking). And Magazine Called Sunset was a nice first for me. I swear I've heard Impossible Germany and Handshake Drugs at every show I've seen since those were about to be released.

In case you missed it yesterday:

    "

He’s pleased, by the way, that Wilco’s return to Birmingham is happening at Sloss Furnaces, a former iron foundry that exhibits heavy-duty industrial charm. Tweedy says the band relished its

    2009 show there

, performing in a covered shed amid the cooling towers and rusted metal.

“It’s always nice to play a concert venue that doesn’t look like every other concert venue,” he says. “We had a great time there; it was really a memorable evening. When the venue is unique, it creates a certain atmosphere. Some venues have a mystique that develops over time, and a lot of great shows happen there. Audiences go in with more of a conscious commitment; they seem to be more with you.”

Wilco wasn’t bothered by the sound of passing trains at Sloss, and Tweedy reported no run-ins with the ghosts rumored to haunt the grounds."

  2. I have two tickets two this show, face value ($105 for the pair).

Seat location: section BAL-15, row D and some good seats :) I can tell you which upon inquiry.

They are will call tickets so you will have to meet me at the show.

    Edit: sold

  3. I've got two extra tickets for tonight in Montgomery on the 3rd row in ORCH. Face value (80 total). Cash only, I will have to meet you at the show.

    Email me at digduggler@gmail.com

Edit: These tickets are no longer available.

  4. I have a set of 4 and a set of 2. Row M, orch left. The sets are only separated by two seats , so if you need a lot close by to each other this would work. Last row before the overhang. A confusing presale with 3 friends led to ticket overload.

With fees about $40 apiece (plus you pay shipping). I have them listed a few places so first come first served.

Edit: these tickets are gone. And I can't figure out how to close this thread :0

  5. Clips of Hotel Arizona and Misunderstood here

And a few reviews say it suffered from overcrowding. It's almost as if the reviewers have never been to a show without reserved seats. I kind of thought it was undersold myself....

  6. Totally great show. The crowd was really into it and the band genuinely seemed to be having fun. I loved the hand drawn pac-man ghost that Glenn kept showing off. The jump off was awesome, and that solo on Hotel Arizona was fantastic. One of the better shows I've seen from them. Of course it probably helps that it was 5 minutes from my house :dance

  7. Going to the Birmingham show tonight. I recollect from past shows that Wilco starts very near the show start time (even with openers). Any recent concertgoers remember Wilco's start time with respect to the advertised show start time?

  8. I believe the extras aren't available until the 18th (the official release date).

Boooooo. Actually I shouldn't bitch, I already have the DVD. I got really excited about the recent announcement of downloading a whole show (I was at the Ryman and am extreeemely excited to get a soundboard of that show) and have a case of the very impatients...
