Dude...New Haven is so much better than Hartford, which, besides Indianapolis, has to be the most boring city in the U.S. Please don't go hatin' on New Haven.
And...earlier someone mentioned Black Bear as an option for drinks but I say stay away...stay far away from that place. Frat bar of the worst kind. Rudy's is not too far to walk...unless you're not used to walking.
Rudy's has a kick ass jukebox. I moved here from Boston and confused by "Poorman's Hartford" .Neither city is glamorous but culturally you have to give it to New Haven
