  1. Thank you for the reply! Unfortunately my boy won't be able to go, someday though. Looks like I'm going to a couple more shows solo! I'm getting to kind of like going alone however. It makes everything easier and after all, there's always plenty of super fans to share the experience with!

One thing, do you know about the gold seating? Chairs I assume and is it just the dance floor area in front? I think it's a really good idea how it was done this year, lower prices and the gold section is nice. Looks to be a success as far as sales and the solo shows are always awesome. Not that Wilco shows aren't, but two different animals so to speak! I am obsessed with Jeff's incredible ability as a songwriter/musician. I rarely listen to anything else. Thanks again!

    Steve

hey hinko....they set up chairs for everyone. only difference between the gold seating and general admission, is that the gold seats are right in front of the stage. no dancing, no standing, everyone sitting peacefully enjoying jeff play amazing music and tell funny stories.

and no clapping. jeff HATES people who clap along.

  2. I have gone to these shows for the past 4 or 5 years. I always start to look on this site in January for when Sue announces the dates. I just happened to stumble across Jam's website tonight and was blown away at the fact that Saturday's show was sold out, and even more so upon learning that scalpers had gobbled up a majority of the tickets. A real F-U to them would be if none of the fans bought them. That way the school gets their scholarship money and the scalpers are left with hundreds of useless tickets. I agree that the paperless route is (unfortunately) the only way to go.

  3. Anyone know if there is an opening act and what time the doors open? I still am amazed that there was no promotion of these shows by Wilcoworld and that they haven't sold out.

    Doors open at 6:30

  4. So i'm kind of on the fence about going. I've seen wilco lots of times and always loved it, but I've never seen Tweedy solo. What can I expect? Like how long does he play for and is there an opening band?

I'm just not sure because I'm kind of worried if it will be lacking something since it's not full band. I've heard plenty of Jeff Tweedy solo shows, but I'm not sure what it'd be like to actually be there. Anyone have any insight?

Tweedy solo is amazing!! He plays for at least 2 1/2 hours. I almost prefer seeing him solo instead of with the band. Almost!! He interacts with the audience a ton. He even let a kid come down and play one of his guitars last year.

  5. Does anyone know why WilcoWorld isn't promoting these shows? There is no mention of them on the web site and I haven't seen anything on their Facebook/Twitter accounts. I'm shocked that tickets are still available. Why wouldn't they promote these shows more?

I was wondering the same thing.
