  1. What's so funny about this thread is, out of the 2 or 3 HUNDRED shows i have seen in Dallas over that last 35 years i have never given a shit about how the crowd reacted during the show. Who gives a fuck about the crowd if your enjoying the performance? Those that require the majority to react a cretin way in order to enjoy the show are the same as the posers that are there to be social to have a good time.

That's great. Guess you just get used to different types of crowds, different types of energy.

  2. Not trying to hate on Dallas (or maybe I am) but out of the 5-6 shows I've been to in Big D, only one had a decent crowd and that was at Club Dada for a Middle Brother show. I remember seeing MMJ at Palladium and shocked at how nobody in the crowd gave a shit.

Excited to see Wilco in Austin tomorrow for sure.

  3. My Top 5 for '10:

    1. Ryan Bingham and The Dead Horses - Momo's Austin, TX (ACL Aftershow)

This might be the best show I've ever been to. Momo's is tiny and everyone was so into it. Aljeandro Escavedo came up on stage for a few songs and Guy Clark Jr. tore it up as the opener.

    2. Delta Spirit - Warehouse Live Houston, TX

These guys absolutely bring it and you can't help but dance your ass off.

    3. Dr. Dog - Warehouse Live Houston, TX

    See Delta Spirit.

    4. Joe Pug - Mango's Cafe Houston, TX

Supremely talented songwriter... check him out if you get the chance.

    5. Dawes - Fitzgerald's Houston, TX

Infectious energy and Peter Wolf Crier were an outstanding opener.

  4. Love

Tallest Man on Earth - The Wild Hunt

    Arcade Fire - The Suburbs

Delta Spirit - History From Below

    Joe Pug - Messenger

  5. haha i thought I had okay seats which were presale 2 Row F seat 6. I got my email message saying I had purchased presale 3 Row J seat 14. I felt like an idiot. Should've paid more attention to all the windows I had opened up.

I got row J too, a couple seats down from you. I'm guessing they haven't made the best seats available yet.

  6. I really wish they were playing at stubbs again, that was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. The Palladium Ballroom is going to be jam packed and no one will give a shit if it's anything like the My Morning Jacket concert I went to last year. I guess I'll be trying out the new venue.

  7. This definitely feels like Wilco the album. A little taste of everything from the back catalog ... like a greatest hits album.

Loving everything except maybe Country Disappeared... little too SBS for my tastes. Like everyone, I can't wait till I get to hear these songs live!

Time will tell but there 5 songs that are as good or better as anything they've put out:

Deeper Down, Bull Black Nova, One Wing, I'll Fight, Sonny Feeling

  8. This album gets better with each listen. I enjoyed Post War but this feels like it is on a different level. The arrangements and instrumentation are fantastic. A little early yet, but this is would have been a strong contender for album of the year if released a month ago. Regardless, it has certainly set the bar high for '09.

Long time lurker, but love reading everyone's thoughts. Especially since so few around me like the same type of music.
