Well, today's the day. Either I'm buying a sunfest ticket as soon as they go on sale, or scrambling to make plans for either Orlando/St. Aug or both....
-
I think that Sunfest will announce lineup any day....the website is not helpful with this....and can't find anything in the internets or ebays that gives any indication when this will come.
I hope so, but I'm not holding my breath. They traditionally announce in late February that makes this my dilema. Can only catch one show and if they announce in my back yard, just like the dude from Tampa, my wife would kill me.
I prefer a full show, but will take anything in my backyard at this point.

There a few gaps in Wilco's Florida tour and absolutely no South Florida dates. Fillmore already said they didn't book a show and whoever answers Wilco's email said these are the only dates. So does anyone on here think there's a remote chance of a Sunfest show or should I plan on hitting up Orlando or St. Augustine?
-
no guava they fixed the dates so they don't coincideVery strong possibility with two open dates. Either sunfest or Big Guava in tampa.

This is true...my source (who I reliable and works on the inside) says 4 acts to be on the tour (Dylan, MMJ, Wilco and TBD)...the only date I know of is South Florida and that date is after the end of the stones tour.....tickets going on sale next Sat.
Some festival of some sort is what I am told.
WOOOOOHOOOOOOO
Who did you hear from regarding a South Florida date? We talking West Palm/ Ft Laud/ Miami or Naple/Fort Myers area? This would be the best news ever.... usually these guys skip Florida on these super tours

Ticketmaster is just plain lazy.....
Search Wilco and the following bands on ticketmaster.com before they take this down:
Strokes, Greg Allman, Arcade Fire,Jamey Johnson, Jimmy Buffet, Kid Rock, Lauren Hill, Cyndi Lauper, Lupe Fiasco, Mystikal, Willie Nelson, Sonny Rollins, Lucinda Williams, Michael Franti, and Maze feat. Frankie Beverly
They all keep coming up for NOLA Jazzfest Big Chief Weekend 2 package

My friend works for the memphis in may organization, and he says they've pretty much locked up the band for beale street music fest this year, at the end of april
Well that definitely is good news! Hopefully we will get some Florida dates prior to coming up to Beale... maybe they will play sun fest this year in Palm Beach...

Yeah, that was a great show! But I feel too hemmed in at the Florida Theatre... there's always that "Stand Up/Sit Down" tension, where folks who want to rock out are in the way of those who want to remain in their seats. Can't understand why people would want to sit through a Wilco show. (Unless they have a bad back or something).
**Speaking of favorite Florida Wilco shows, mine was many moons ago in Gainesville, during the YHF tour. Jeff said that the roadies picked the set list, and the band played all the balls-to-the wall songs like Monday, Casino Queen, Outta Site, etc. I was in heaven!
I hear you there. It's b/c there were a bunch of season ticket holders there instead of just Wilco fans, so they were clueless. I drove up from South Florida for it and was thankful that Tweedy finally just told everyone to get out of their seats. After that tension lifted, they put on a stellar show.
I agree on the Florida Theatre show....it was great but people wanted to sit down.
Last tour I saw both the Fillmore Show and the Tampa Show...no contest with Fillmore better becasue of the GA standing vs. reserved in a theatre.
I have been to almost every Florida show since YHF but I did not go to that Gainesville show. I saw the show at Carefree in Palm Beach and that was a great show....bare bones with only 4 members at that time...and I remember they did We've Been Had and they did Laminated Cat.
Was at the last Fillmore show. Honestly, it was really really sick and they played forever so that made me very happy. I loved the acoustic set and the request set. Definitely something I've never seen them do before.

As long as we're speculating about 2011 tour dates, I want to put in a plug for the beautiful St. Augustine Amphitheatre. It's a fantastic award-winning venue. Rumors abounded last fall that Wilco was negotiating for a date there on the "Evening with Wilco" tour, but it never materialized. They played in Savannah instead. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for North Florida!
That's a pretty decent Amp, but my favorite Wilco show of all time was the Florida Theater in Jacksonville. Absolutely sick acoustics and they played a killer show. Plus a bonus, I was introduced to Bon Iver's music
-
my speculation is that they play a spring tour that heads out west (making that initial May Texas date feasible) and they play Coachella or Sasquatch

Thanks Dude!!! Great sound and am loving the show. Greatly appreciate it!!!!!
Found the FLAC torrent! Sounds Great.

THanks dude. Found a ton of good shows including the MB show. Greatly appreciate the guidance.
There have been only three shows from this tour to appear so far, so it may be a while (or not).
Keep an eye on this section of Via Chicago:

So please don't rake me over the coals for this one, but did anyone find a recording of the show yet? I've been scouring the internet and can't find jack......
-
this show was absolutely amazing. actually traveled to J'ville the last time they were in Florida to see them at Florida Theater (actually got introduced to Bon Iver this way). The MB show blew this old experience out of the water.
-
and still no Florida dates... come on guys show the Sunny state some love. Hopefully Dec./Jan/Feb dates. Please do a real show down here, no Langerado or other festivals
-
I was hoping for a Charlotte or Atlanta date but looks like that's probably not happening. Oh well, maybe next year!
yeah i was hoping for some Florida dates. One tour date (J'ville) in three years sucks. There are plenty of Wilco fans down here who seem to get the shaft each Wilco tour....
-
Looks like we have our first tour dates of the fall tour
10/4 at Farm Aid in outside of St. Louis
10/18 in Chicago
hopefully we will see more soon

- Vic/Riv/Metro are among my favorites. Yes, they need cosmetic work, but that doesn't really bother my concert experience. There are plenty of options for viewing strategies, and in the right hands, each of these rooms can sound outstanding.
[I'm actually heading in to chicago from out of town to see Lollapalooza and am catching a few latenights at the Metro. Any suggestions for viewing strategies?

I was really surprised they didn't squeeze in a Florida date when they were in the southeast in April. I'm not surprised that you guys get shafted--after all, you live in America's wang.
Same here. When they announced they were touring the Southeast, I was at least thinking Jacksonville again. I made the trip last time to the Florida Theater from South Florida and was ready to do it again. It was a bummer. That place sold out too... and at my hotel there were many fans from all over the state there to see them.
But it's a big wang.
Somebody had to be the wang.... I guess we'll deal.... Just soften the blow with some Wilco....
-
They just started a tour. Are you seriously asking for the next round of dates?
Yeah, I'm seriously asking for dates, since Wilco has played only one date in Florida (Jacksonville August 08) since March of 2006.

Just saw that on the High Road Touring site, Wilco was looking to book fall dates in October and November. Anyone hear anything?
Hoping for some Florida dates.
-
Anyone hear any rumblings about concert dates around their 'Roo performance?
I'm hoping for some DC or Florida (b/c we always get the shaft with every band...)
-
I'm a little bummed. I thought they would add some Florida dates for April after reading this off pitchfork.com
Anyone know what happened?
I don't really consider Milwaukee, Indiana, and Ohio part of the south... damn... Florida gets screwed again (though we sold out their last show in Jacksonville).

WILCO TO RELEASE LIVE DVD; JEFF TWEEDY'S SON REVEALED TO BE A SURPRISINGLY GOOD BLOGGER
The day before Christmas, Wilco sent out an email newsletter outlining their plans for 2009. In addition to a new album in the spring, the band will release the concert DVD Ashes of American Flags in February or March via Nonesuch. Consisting of footage from Wilco's February 2008 tour in support of latest album Sky Blue Sky, Ashes of American Flags was created by Brendan Canty (yes, the drummer from Fugazi) and Christoph Green at Trixie Films.
Wilco will hit the road in the South in April, including a show at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on April 25, and will hit Spain in May. In January, Jeff Tweedy will play a trio of Midwestern solo shows, while Nels Cline will tour California with various combos.
On a (literally) related note, if you'd like to feel woefully inadequate as a blogger, writer, or human being in general, check out Jeff's son Spencer Tweedy's blog, which everybody seemed to discover the week before Christmas. A shockingly erudite 13-year-old, Spencer writes about world travel (he's hanging out with his dad and Neil Finn in New Zealand right now), technology, music, politics, and Bar/Bat Mitzvot. Let's hope he doesn't discover drugs or sex any time soon.

my guess would be slim on that one. They wouldve just finished lollapalooza. Probably would like a break in there.
True but I can always hope. Im getting tix for J'ville anyways. If they play South Florida, i get two nights instead of one.

It's a definite. I'm buying tix in the stand to be up close. I've done it before and you're basically in the photo pit. Totally worth the extra cash.http://lineup.sunfest.com/
