In reality Neil is definItely my favourite & the last few
years I have been obsessed by Wilco.
I am also getting into the Drive- by Truckers also. They are playing a
small club in April in T.O. Can't wait!!
Really enjoy Grace Potter & the Nocturnals also. Man, can she sing.
It really is hard to find good new music in this
day & age of classic rock stations & new country which
is just regurgitated 80's rock crap.
But tonight my favourite band in the world will be
Wilco because I'll only be 4 rows away right between
Nels & Jeff!!!
Keep On Rockin in the Free World!!!

As a longtime concertgoer I find the whole sitting /standing a pain in the ass! In the late 70's, early 80's it was never a problem.
Everybody stood & partied their asses off!! Oh those were the days! Nowadays with the aged fans & the much tighter security
things have changed. Being from polite Canada we have a real sitting problem up here. It drives me nuts. Oh I'm pretty sure I'll be unfortunately
sitting in Hamilton. Maybe Wilco should have a standing rule for floors. I.E. Standers take precedent over sitters.
I find one of the problems with Wilco they choose these lovely seated theatres with incredible sound. Unfortunately these are not conducive venues for standing.
One night Wilco, the next night the philharmonic. If Jeff wants people to stand they should play venues with no seating on the main floor or just large clubs.
My wife loves to dance at shows & has got into a few confrontations over the years. ( this has been a big problem at Neil Young shows)
Last Neil tour he had GA for the floors. That seemed to work. Of course they were still sittig in the stands.
It is not a lot of fun to be trying to mediate a dispute, it kinda takes away from the enjoyment of the show.
Anyways thanks for listening to my rambling rant. I guess there is no answer.
Also I'm sick as a dog one night before the show. I just might have to sit! LOL
P.S How can you sit during Bull Black Nova or Shot in the Arm??

I am thrilled to see they did When the Roses Bloom Again!!!
Now I know I have a good shot at seeing it done in Hamilton!
My fingers are crossed!!!
-
I am hoping for When the Roses Bloom Again to be played in Hamilton.
It is in the top ten requests right now. I would love it if the fans could come together
to vote for this song.
I find this song to be one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard.
From some research I did this song was sung by soldiers around the campfires by
both sides during the Civil War. It is just so sad & uplifting at the same time.
It's been a long time since Jeff & the boys have played this live. May 2008 in fact.
I think it's time to pull this beauty out of the vault.
Hopefully this request thru the board works!!
If anyone knows more history about this song I would
love to hear it!!!
Thanks for any help!!

Heard One Wing at my local grocery store in Toronto last week.
A few months ago I heard Impossible Germany
at the same store.
I have never heard them on the radio in Canada.
I got into them when I went to Farm-Aid in Chicago a few years back.
The shame is I missed so many shows they played in T.O.
Looking forward to Hamilton next month!!!

You should check out Grace Potter & the Nocturnals.
Grace could sing the phonebook & it would sound amazing!
They have a late 60's, early 70's classic rock sound &
she's not hard hard on the eyes either!!
They have sort of patterned themselves after The Band &
they just recently played at Levon Helms Midnight Ramble.
Check out the songs Nothing but the Water(Boston music awards version is the best) & Big White Gate on
YouTube.

Yee Haw, just scored 4th row for Hamilton!!!!!!!!!!
Seats right between Nels & Jeff!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!!!
-
The national post had a interview with
John Stirratt & he was talking about starting to
work on the next album in the new year. Does not
sound like a band about to break up.
Hope this link works!
Cheers

Pumped up, maybe Jim Cuddy could get up for
Cali Stars!!!
Saw all of the Tragically Hip(except Gordie)at the Neil Young
concert in Kingston ON rockin' out. What Local
Toronto stars should we be watching for the
next 2 nights? Anybody know?
-
As a fairly new fan I find this thread very interesting. I have only seen Wilco twice & both times
it was only for short sets. So I am very excited to be seeing them for the 2 nights in T.O.
I think everyone here should be estatic that they are one of the few bands that put out for
2 1/2 hours per night. I am sure the main body of the sets in T.O will be the same but you also
know there will be a few surprises each night. I am sure the belly aching would be much worse
if they started playing for 1 1/2 hours a night. So bring on Shot on the Arm & Handshake Drugs!!!!

Hello everyone, my first post!!!!
I am from Toronto, i have never met a Wilco fan here. I have introduced friends & family to Wilco
but I still don't think they get it. My wife is lukewarm to them.
I had never heard of them until i went to Farm-aid in Chicago a few years back.
A guy i was sitting near was a huge fan of Wilco. ( his wife said he was obsessed). I understand now.
They reminded me a bit like a band called Blue Rodeo from the Toronto area. Kinda Alt country with a huge
Canadian following. Influenced by The Band(sound familiar) Worth checking out. (recommend the album 5 Days in July).
I am a huge Neil Young fan so i am thrilled to be seeing Neil & Wilco on the same bill together on Dec 4th.
Looking forward to them playing a full show at a smaller venur next time(Massey Hall) which i missed last time.
Anyways have a rockin Wilco Goodtime!!!!

Anvil is a Canadian heavy metal band from the 1980's.
I do believe they are still kicking around.
