  1. Let's go back to the beginning. Thanks to the band for starting off in Florida. I caught the first 2 shows of the tour (Miami and Clearwater) and it was great to see them finally make it down here again (especially Miami!). When there is almost no access to their music outside of the albums and MP3's (all Latin and Urban, all the time) and I personally know no one else who appreciates their music, seeing them here, live, and with a community of like-minded fans who could sing a song like Jesus, Etc all the way through, was a great experience. The fans that night even surprised the band. Good job all the way around.

  2. Great post SarahC. After seeing the first 2 shows in Florida (where I work) I returned to Atlanta (where I live), but because of family commitments and scheduling I could not go to the show at the Fox. Couldn't believe I was in the same city as the band and couldn't go. Anyway, your write-up kept the feeling of the previous 2 shows (Miami, being the best I ever saw, Clearwater, slightly behind) alive. Thanks.

  3. what is this dinner giveaway thing about?

The band has someone poll the crowd before the show to take requests (or I guess the online requests at wilcoworld.com are used too). Whichever songs win, Jeff announces that one of the people requesting it (determined pre-show) wins dinner for 2 at a local restaurant.

  4. Cannot wait for the downloads.

I was at both the Miami and Clearwater shows and I have to agree with those that posted about the differences in the two shows. The Miami show was General Admission and they let everyone into the pit who wanted to stand there. Most people did and the audience seemed to respond really well, standing the whole show (I admit my vantage point for this show was better, almost up front) and the band responded well, even pulling up a young fan to sing and play with them on "California Stars." Clearwater, on the other hand, had no pit, and the ushers made sure everyone made it to the seats printed on their tickets. This certainly must have contributed to the "reserved" vibe I think everyone felt. There were some who got up to dance in their seats early on though. On courageous woman in my section was yelled at to sit down. Without blinking, she turned and responded to those yelling, "No, f****rs, you stand up." I think Jeff would have appreciated her style. I know I did. Both great, great shows.

  5. On phone so sorry for spelling errors in advance. Saw Miami and clear. Glad I saw both. Miami had more energy but the rarities at clear were sweet. Bob Dylan and not fir the season. Just sick

no break at clear to setup the small stage. Band us really peaking right now

I will have more notes when I get back to my real computer

Saw the same shows and I completely agree.

  6.

Another cool moment, I don't think Jeff sang ANY of Jesus Etc. The entire song (including the chorus) was sung by teh audience.

If I recall, Jeff even mentioned that he was impressed that the crowd knew and could sing the whole song. Having not been to Miami in so long he must have been surprised that the fans could do this (and so was I, to be honest - I don't personally know many Wilco fans in S. Fla, but they were there). Folks are saying the show did sell out. I think that the crowd was able to fit itself into the Pit, even though tickets were sold with seat assignments.
