May 14th Tampa here. I'm so excited I can't contain myself. This will be show number 3 for me.

 

At a 2005 show Wilco did in Tampa, Jeff grabbed a girl's cellphone and began conversing with the person she was talking to - her mother. I remember that he had to explain to the mother who he was ("uh, this is Jeff, I'm the singer in the band.") He also told this girl's mom that , "No she didn't look too drunk." All of this took place in the middle of the band playing Kingpin. I think he also told the girl after the song had ended and he had given the phone back that "Wow, your mom was really mad at me." This was hysterical and personally I think Jeff ought to start grabbing more phones and reading to the audience what they were texting.

I was there. Hilarious. But seriously. Stay off your phones people. Ever heard of respect?

one recording has been posted by suites in the "In a Future Age" section of the forums. As he admits, it isn't the best recording but it'll hold us till someone posts a better one. It's not all that bad really...just sounds a little far away.

Wilco does it again!!

They played Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center 5 years ago and it was fantastic. The show last night was absolutely amazing. Spiders acoustic was my favorite of the night. I can't wait to find a recording of it.

But seriously...How do we get them to include the Tampa area more often? 5 years?? FIVE!!

I'd love to see a Jeff Tweedy show in one of our smaller venues sometime too. I loved Sunken Treasure. Maybe since the Clearwater show sold out so quickly they'll think about us more often. haha.

i agree...first they've been to tampa bay area in 5 yrs!! I'm so psyched. Can't wait for the acoustic set.

I saw WILCO last time they were in Tampa. Absolutely amazing and I can't wait to see them again. The acoustic set they did at last night's show in Miami sounds awesome.
