  1. For those who secured tickets during the pre-sale for Red Rocks. Did it state row numbers for Reserved 1, Reserved 2 and GA? I don't recall seeing this information posted during the pre-sale. I've always purchased GA (and did so for this upcoming show) and we get to the venue early to grab a great row/seat. Yesterday, for shits/giggles I looked at the AXS website to learn they changed it all up and GA is in the very back of the venue. Nothing I can do about it, but I'm not happy, at all, about this new arrangement (the last place I want to be is way up top for this show) and I don't think it was disclosed during the pre-sale. Can anyone confirm?

i'm with you here.  i have been to every Wilco Red Rocks show thus far - in addition to many other RR shows - and have never seen a seating configuration such as this.  there have been shows where the entire venue is Reserved, but i've never seen GA only in the back.

like you, i confidently chose GA on the frontgate pre-sale knowing i would show up early and secure my spot up front.  not until people started chiming in here about their "3rd row reserved" tickets did i even think twice about it.  i am fairly sure frontgate mentioned nothing of this "new" seating arrangement on the presale website on wednesday.  the thursday and friday axs sales clearly stated the seating arrangement, but obviously it was too late by that point.

i think someone royally fucked this one up for some of the more hardcore Wilco fans.  I just can't fathom why they would change up the seating arrangement for a show/venue that they have played in the "typical" Red Rocks arrangement every time they've come here in the past.

  2. Iron & Wine have a new album coming out and neither Jim nor Ben were part of the recording or figure in touring plans this time out...so there is still hope maybe?

I loved what Jim brought to the Iron & Wine live show.

I've yet to see Califone live, and to think my first time will be a 40 person Living Room Show just excites the hell out of me.  I had almost convinced a buddy of mine to road trip to Missoula back in 2009 to see Califone open for Wilco (seriously a DREAM pairing of mine).

So what's the protocol for these shows?  I know to be as respectful to the host as possible, but is it ok to bring a few beers in with you?

  3. sound quality is phenomenal. only gripe is that night 1 is missing two songs: "First Light" and "Masterplan". kind of a bummer, but still nice that they are even doing this at all. the only response back about those two songs is kinda laggin':

Unfortunately a couple songs from the first night of Red Rocks are not included in the official bootlegs release. Hope you enjoyed the show!

I'm "re-living" night 2 right now and loving it.

  4. Red Rocks weekend:

    2.75 hours the first night

    3.5 hours the second night.

No repeats, epic long shows, band on fire, friendly forum fans hanging out at hotel and tailgate parties, early entry for fan club folks... I think you could say it was a good time!

covers included Isn't It A Pity, It Makes No Difference, Oh Sweet Nuthin', and Rock The Casbah.

And they just announced three nights at the (newly reopened?) Capitol Theater in Port Chester, NY for you East Coast folk.

Shug, it was great to meet you...albeit way too briefly. i have to concur...what we witnessed was pretty epic. in fact i think the Official Rankings of Best Current Live Bands just swapped it's numbers 1 and 2 - MMJ now followed by Wilco.

  5. For me, I'm stoked because I don't want to do bit torrents or listen to AUD recordings or do all that trading stuff . An easy convenient download of a good SBD is well worth $12 to me and I get to directly support the band in yet another way. I think its good karma.

i feel like i'm quoting you a lot today Shug, but this is exactly my feeling....

  6. i've already got tickets, but i'm trying desperately to win this this week from KBCO

All this week we have your chance at a private concert during the soundcheck for their show on Saturday, June 23rd, followed by a backstage tour of Red Rocks and VIP tickets at the soundboard for the show that night!
