Can't Wait to see Wilco in Madrid!!!
I'm still wondering how different their show in Madrid would be!!!
-
You're right, these prices are too expensive for the spanish crowd. I hope they give us their best perfomance!
-
I'm really excited to see Wilco again! I need them too much.
I read about the concert in Madrid, that they would do a different kind of concert! anybody knows how it'd be?
Barcelona and Bilbao are with seats only, but Madrid will have standing area(40 euros, even cheaper than last year!!)
-
I was there too, came from Madrid to my 5th Wilco Show
Amazing Show, venue and sound were excellent and the band was awesome
Impossible Germany was again the best moment of the night
-
tranks for the information!

Besides the shows in Europe in February/March and the show in Primavera Sound Barcelona, does anyone know if they are more shows to be announced for Europe in May and start of the summer???

Encore:
Last night they played in Barcelona, didn't go to this one, but looks like they had this setlist. Must've been an awesome Show, even more songs than ever..
That's the venue where they played...

After spending Halloween in Madrid (see Mikael's photo on Wilco Facebook) and being surrounded by partying witches, warlocks and lots of zombies, it came as a surprise that los Madrilenos had any energy left from the night before to party - oh but they did! The Teatro Circo Price is a great venue (what is it about Wilco and circus venues? - three on this tour alone) with a flat floor in the centre and seating wrapped right round to a tight thrust stage (Jeff at one point: hey! that guy's on stage with us!) The sound up front was a little muddy though, but otherwise it was a great show. With a set list obviously leading on from night two at the Roundhouse in London and changed once they realised they had a football match on their hands! The audience response after Impossible Germany was amazing, it looked like everyone on stage was quite stunned as the crowd broke into chanting ole!, ole!, ole! and Jeff had to bring proceedings to a halt to try and get the show back on the rails and under the curfew at 11.45pm. For seasoned support act watchers: Pat joined Jonathan Wilson for the first couple of numbers again. After seeing 4 gigs so far on this tour, I'm convinced JW is the new Grateful Dead (with a bit of Pink Floyd thrown in for good measure), but his set is improving as the tour rolls on.
Agree on everything. the Show was awesome.
Jeff also mentioned that we spaniards are the only people who get understand the band(and little bit the scottish people too XD)

So, WILCO started the spanish tour in Madrid, the venue was perfect, the audience and the atmosphere was perfect for WILCO....
Great Show, Jonathan Wilson as support band was really good and I got the setlist, at the encore they had written ITTBYH and One Wing, changed Misunderstoood with Red Eyed and Blue and added I Got You to finish the Show.

no gig in Chicago??? I'll be there the first week in september(coming from Spain)
is it possible they add some more dates in chicago before Indianapolis?
I hope!
-
Good News about the dates in Spain. I'm from Spain, have seen Wilco once in Madrid and last year at the first show in Montclair NJ.....
Would be great to see them in San Sebastian this time, looks like a amazing venue for Wilco....probably better than the venue in Madrid.
I'm waiting to listen the new album!!!
-
yeah! the venues was a regular stage outside(almost too big for Jeff alone)with a part of people were standing and behind a terrace with people sitting.
Veranos de la Villa is a every year summer festival in Madrid with many concerts every day.
At the same stage where Jeff played Artists like Patti Smith, Elvis Costello, The Wailers or Sinnead O'Connor are going to play there.

Yesterday Jeff Tweedy played in Madrid right after Spain won the Semifinal against Germany. He was really nice and congratulated us for the victory of Spain.
Musically, Tweedy did a wonderful concert. The connection between him and the audience was beautiful and he was in a really good mood, making some jokes between songs. He played around and 1h and 45min and unfortunately he didn't play much longer.....but Thanks Jeff anyway!

Incredible Show last night!!!! I had my worries about the venue where they played, it's was bullfighting arena and their sound is not quite the best, but the band and organisation did a great job to get the best sound for the concert. It sounded incredibly good. Audience was great and the set was really good played, the encore was my favorite part of the show.
Jeff didn't say much but had a few funny moments with the audience, first with those two foreign girls with their weird signs(that was a bit annoying)and Jeff saying they should rather send fanpost, he said the venue is a crazy place and also asked us who was the bull there, the crowd or him.....it seemed like they were having a good time. We got even a small tourposter after the show.
My 6th Wilco concert and still thrilled to see them live, definitely the best liveband I've ever seen.
