  1. Thanks for the detailed review Bbop! I just recently returned back to the U.S. from spending a few weeks in Japan, and reading your Osaka report today reminded me again of how special and memorable that night felt (in addition to Tokyo's Liquid Room show with Jim O'Rourke, wow!).

I will coyly admit that I was the gaijin woman who shouted for some David Bowie and Mr. Tweedy jokingly replied that they're going to play some Neil Young for now (hinting that I should be patient ;)). Well, the wait was worth it since I too had the biggest smile on my face when they ended the night with "Queen Bitch." The two gigs in Japan were totally worth the long plane ride from home. I will have to thank Tweedy band for making me haul my ass all the way out to Asia to see them, because it's been an absolute thrill to discover and travel throughout Japan!
  2. Hey Boss_Tweedy,

I know what it feels like to have something taken away from you, especially right after you walk out of a Wilco show glowing and beaming with joy. Someone grabbed my phone after the show in the ladies room at Kings Theatre (Brooklyn) on night 1. I was pretty devastated, mostly because of the photos/videos saved on it (learned my lesson to upload on cloud storage for the future).

But more importantly, I went to see Wilco the following night and during those two amazing hours, Wilco helped me to forget all about a silly phone. I was just so happy to be back again to a beautiful room full of excited fans and of course, the band bringing the house down. Items are always replaceable and I hope seeing Wilco again on night 2 in Atlanta also helped you to forget the unpleasant memories. I also hope you can find another replacement. And remember, Wilco is always the best medicine for the blues :)
  3. Are there any Austin residents who might be able to help out two Wilco fans by acquiring wristbands for us today at Waterloo Records? Or anyone who might get there early tomorrow and be able to secure some extra wristbands for us? (It's limit 4 per person). We're visiting Austin for the Stubb's shows, but the in-store performance/signing would just be the cherry on top!

We're flying into Austin tomorrow around 12 - 1pm, but since there are only a limited number of wristbands, we're unsure whether they'll be any available tomorrow afternoon. We would pay you back for the purchase of two 'Star Wars' records of course! And we would be so grateful and will repay your kindness. Please let me know, thanks.

  4. Hi friends,
So, it seems that everyone and their mothers are looking for tickets to the Independent. I tried to buy one when it went on sale, but all my shouting at the computer screen was to no avail since it sold out in mere seconds.

In addition to the cost of ticket, I will also offer to buy you a meal and postprandial drinks as my gratitude. And since Wilco is all about giving things away for free (because Wilco loves us, baby), I can also offer you fun conversations, corny jokes, and good vibes, free of charge. All kidding aside, you'll be helping out a Wilco diehard, and in fact, I will probably die if I can't see the Notorious Wilco Bros. Well, not really, but I will most likely be riding a bus for 9 hours from LA to SF (right after the Greek show in LA) to be able to see them at the Independent. And sitting 9 hours on a bumpy bus ride already sounds like a slow, painful death to me.

Anyways, to make this short and sweet, because clealy succintness is my specialty: Looking for 1 ticket to the Independent. Pretty please. I would be forever in your debt. Thanks!
  5. Hi everyone,

I know this is wishful thinking, but I'm looking for a single ticket for Saturday (12/6) and Monday (12/8) at the Riv.

A fellow VCer helped me out for Friday night, but I'm hoping to see them more than once while I'm visiting Chicago. Would be nice to make it to a few shows. Especially since I hear Chicago has the best crowd for a truly great Wilco experience. So, if you can help me check this one off my bucket list, please let me know. Thanks!

  6. Does anyone remember from previous Chicago residencies if tickets were available for face value (from stubhub or people with extras) closer to the date of the shows? I'm considering booking a flight from NY soon without purchasing any of the Riv tickets ahead of time. But I wouldn't be able to go if tickets will be impossible to find without a premium price.

Those 3 amazing nights in Port Chester just convinced me that I need to see them again. I saw several people with extras outside of the Capitol Theater on each night, but considering Chicago is their home turf, I don't know how easy it will be to acquire tickets. If anyone has any extras, please let me know :)
