  1. Keep an eye out for a certain Grammy winning band to release info about a show on April 28 at The Orpheum. :dancing

    Yes, those rumors are thick.

Would make it even more worth the travel up from Florida.

    .

  2. No, but I can tell you that music fest sucks.

Avetts are already confirmed, so maybe this year will be better.

I grew up in north MS & went to that fest a few times, so I can heartily agree w/ you.

However, I was already planning to visit family around that weekend. Squeezing in Wilco & the Avett Bros might redeem BSMF enough to get me there.

  3. Anyone one hearing that Wilco could be playing the Beale Street Music Festival on the weekend of Apr 29 - May 1?

Seems plausible at least & BSMF is set to announce on Mar 3.

    Just curious.

  4. i know this is probably blasphemy here, but i just wanted to point out that ive been watching ticket prospects for this show on ebay, and there are and have been several sets of seat sold for right at cost, or barely over cost, consistently...clearly the ticket brokers were all over this one from the start, and it is not going to come close to selling out....just a suggestion if you are in a pinch...

in addition, i may be buying extras...if i get jammed, ill let you know what i have...

I watched ebay, stubhub, and craigslist before scoring our three via connection with the promoter. WilcoWorld now shows this one as a sell-out, but I can't imagine there aren't plenty of good seats out there, if you'll just search often.

  5. My wife and I are driving up from Tallahassee, FL, for this show. I grew up in north Mississippi, so Memphis is very familiar territory for me.

It's been a few years since I was there last, but Memphis is rich with blues and rock history. You can't do badly by taking in any of the museums mentioned above and making a daytime stop on Beale Street.

We haven't really mapped out where we're going before the show, but I will not travel all the way there and miss out on some Memphis Barbecue. I'd recommend all you carnivores work it into your plans for the day.

  6. We're leaving for Jacksonville in the next couple of hours. I'm still planning to have some food and drinks at the London Bridge Pub.

We'll be easy to spot because my wife is a beautiful red-headed woman (apologies to other beautiful red-headed ladies).

  7. I did presale on wilcoworld.net Wednesday and still got what I thought was merely fair seats (200 loge row B/near center).

First time seeing them, though, so beggers (or buyers) can't be choosers.

From what I heard, Florida Theatre "friends" got first dibs at tickets and took half the floor.

If true, that would explain why my Music Today pre-sale tickets drew Loge 300 at 11.30 the morning they became available.

I'm trying to convince my wife that they're actually very good seats, but she wants to be able to count Jeff's nosehairs from her spot in the theatre. ;)

  8. I pulled up L300, Row C at about 11.30 yesterday.

Didn't have the patience to thow 'em back and see what else came up.

My wife and I are driving over from Tallahassee to catch the show. Haven't seen the band since Voodoo in New Orleans, so this will be a treat.

  9. I'm there. Got a hookup with my brother-in-law, the radio guy. We're going in style!

Can't wait for October because that's a great lineup!

This isn't on Wilcoworld yet....maybe they'll continue on through the South for another few shows???? :rock

    Florida? ! ? !

  10. Tallahassee, FL here. We'll be bringing the sunshine in Row 6 on the right side of the Pit. My wife is a short, red-haired lady; can't miss her.

Does anyone know about parking/tailgating @ Chastain. This is the first time we've been to this venue...

    It's almost Tuesday!

  11. Hi All! Second show in ATL for us, first time at the Chastain. I hope parking is better than reviews I've read. Curious if this is table/non table set up. Conflicting info online. Anyone know?

    Orchestra Row M, seats 10-13.

We'll have our kids with us, if we get there a little early is it nice to walk around the grassy areas and whatnot? maybe have a bite beforehand? Thoughts?

    SO FREAKIN' EXCITED.

No tables. It's the rock setup with seats in the Pit.

  12. Yes, but I don't remember what it is. I don't recall ever feeling like a concert at Chastain was shut down early, or anything. The neighborhood Chastain Park is in is also very strict when it comes to decibel levels. Fortunately, Wilco is not a band that believes that louder = more rockin', so that should not be much of a consideration.

I don't have any experience with the Chastain neighborhood or the season ticket holder crowd, but I've seen Wilco a handful of times and their show can be pretty loud. I don't think they'll try to blow windows out in the surrounding homes, but don't sell them short in terms of their decibel output.

    Can't wait for the show!

  13. Oh yes. I listened to the webcast through my headphones and had the radio on at the same time. The webcast is significantly delayed, though I don't remember how long... ~10 seconds maybe?

Thank you. I have to hope they don't answer 20 callers during the 10-second delay. ;)

Does anyone know if they do late night (after 10 PM) giveaways?

  14. There was another opportunity just now, but I can never seem to get through.

Is there a delay between the live FM transmission and the webcast? I know sometimes there can be a 7 (or more) second difference. Just wondering if I'm at a disadvantage listening online.
