Paraphrasing here too: I think Jeff said something like "well hello there?.." crowd laughs...Jeff replied with "I'm trying to pick you all up"
Jeff said "Come here often?" to the crowd.

I'm a big DBT fan and have all their records, and English Oceans is a masterpiece. I got my hands on a copy and have listened almost 80 times. I can't help it. I keep listening over and over and over and just keep wanting more. I don't know if it is better than SRO and the Isbell records, but it is, at the very least, the most consistently good record they have made. It helps that Cooley writes six of the 13 songs (and sings lead on a seventh), leaving no Patterson filler remaining. It's all great, really. I can't wait to see the reception for this album. If it was 1974 everyone would be going gaga for it. This is already my favorite record by anyone in the 2010s.
