just wanted to share . . .

 

ryan played in my adopted hometown for the first time last night and after a shakey start (he played two songs and then said something along the lines of 'fuck this mic' and then walked off for 15 minutes), he and the band played a really great show - lots of stuff from cold roses and a smattering of stuff from the other records

 

when he came back to the stage he apologised and then played a fantastic set - lord, that voice! the arrangements of the songs were really lovely - especially off broadway. ryan seemed to be enjoying himself, but he was just so focused it was scary! the cardinals were so tight, and neal casal was just great

 

the crowd for a saturday night (and for a ryan adams show) was surprisingly good - alternatively quiet and loudly appreciative when they were supposed to be - so thanks brissie, again you are worth your weight in gold (no pun intended!)

 

my husband and i are flying down to sydney later in the week to see him for two shows, so fingers crossed, we see him do 3/3 really great shows (i know, i know, don't get your hopes up . . . but sometimes you've got to believe )

We went to see him last night at Melbourne's Palais. I'm not so hot at reviewing but from where we where he was on fine form and like you say thet voice was beautiful I could have listened for hours. Hope you have a great night in Sydney. x

glad there's another oz ryan fan around these parts, and glad you enjoyed the show last night in melbs - if it was anything like brissie, it would have been hard not to enjoy - bring on sydney!
