  1. Thanks for the info.....I assumed general admission meant I would be sitting (I suppose I will have that option) But didn't think I would have access close to the stage. I thoguht that was what the higher tix were...Were the Dylan momentos the only icentive to pay the outlandish extra $$$?

  2. OK guys, any info would be great to make this a great concert experience! And it would be appreaciated if you took the time to answer a few questions....The Peoria show will be indoors...first show on the tour this has happened. What time shold I get there to get a good seat? How much are the posters? T-shirts? I've heard that security has made people thake their phones to the car. Is this true? I planned on getting there around 5:00 for the 5:30 Thompson set...so basically is that early enough and is the merch overpriced as usual? I assume food is sold at the venue? Sorry, my last big show other than Wilco was Pearl Jam about 11 years ago. :)  I hope my wife is able to hang in there for 5 hours of music. It's not really her thing. :)

  3. Anyone Going to the Peoria show? Kinda bummed they changed venues from the ballpark to the civic center arena. Wanted to see the show outside. I bought the VIP hot ticket package or whatever. Probably a waste but early entry sounded good, I get tired of waiting in line for hours. I hope the instructions for early entry are the same at the civic center. Said to go to box office and look for check in sign. I guess I will find out. Hope Dylan is good, never been a huge fan and have seen some pretty bad Dylan shows. I've never seen MMJ. Hope it's a good show! Steve

Hey Steve, Sounds like we are seeing eye to eye on this show. However, I am estatic the show has been moved inside. I've heard the sound for a ot of the shows have been muddy and not very loud. I think the sound will be better inside...no humidity and won't have to worry about the chance of rain that is in the forcast....it is pouring buckets right now (Champaign) anyway. Don't think I got the early entry, however, I look forward to getting a good seat. My number is 217 390 1415 if you want to keep me updated on things. :)  I too am not a Dylan fan but it will be nice to say I saw him. I've etried to get into My Morning Jacket but only a handful realy hit me...Amazed and Golden. Should be a fun night nontheless. Enjoy

  4. Thrilled that the venue has been changed to an indoor location....Peoria Civic center. I've heard some complaints on the sound and hopefully the indoor location will help with that. Can't wait! Also, what kind of merchandising have you seen at the Americanarama shows? Overly priced? What time should I arrive for a good seat (General Admission) Thanks!

  5. Hey~It's been awhile since I've been on here, I have no computer at home. After doing some searches I see no posts related to Jeff's stop in Champaign a few months back. All my messages have been deleted, but there was a kind gentelman who sent me a live recording of the show 2 years ago. (Thanks again by the way) If anyone has any way of getting this show copied for me, I will be forever in debt. Please send any info to my mailing address. Mikeang@aol.com

His Fake Plastic Trees cover was a huge surprise!!! Great show

Thanks in advance for any help. Michael

  6. Yeah, I had my reservations about this show too. I'm so happy I did because I've been dabbling a little in his newer stuff and this just made me more interested. I was surprised that there were so few people there when it was scheduled to start, but he was out all day trying to find new shoes, and I'm pretty sure he was at the Bread Company across the street until a little before 8:00. The band didn't wander into the auditorium until 8:00 anyway. Yeah.

It was free for me because I'm a member of Starcourse (the "company that brings the talent"), and it was interesting hearing what other people were saying about him when we were all watching in the back. Yeah, he's entertaining, but man, he knows he is good and probably thinks he is better than he is. All the jabs at Maroon 5 were really funny, but at one point my friend was just like, if I was a fan of his I'd be pissed that he bitches for 5 minutes between each song. But when he finally did start up, his stuff is solid.

Oh, and obviously, I've been trying to suggest Wilco or at least a Tweedy solo show for us to book. He was here last year, and I hope with all the breaks in the tour we'll be able to catch him.

Keep up on the Wilco show!!! I doubt if he'll be here solo again, at least for awhile since he was just here last fall. I think it was the fall. I imagine he'll stop through here before the tour is done. At least he usually does. Yeah, Ryan was at the Bread Company. Somebody asked if they wee part of the Cardinals. One guys said yes, the other said no. Ryan was also downtown Champaign I believe at the Salvation Army shop and a guitar store.

  7. I don't do set lists but here are some lights and lows of the show.

Ryan was definately in good spirits tonight. He seemed to have something to say in between most songs. Lots of Fucks and Oh my gosh and seemed to be having an ordeal into his 4th day of no smoking. He wondered out loud why he would do such a thing while on tour. Some of this stuff as humorus mostly for the younger college kids (nothing against you guys) but being 33 it got to be a bit annoying. He'd go over to the side of the piano and just bang on it. Even his bandmates seemed a little tired of the constant rambling.

However, the music they played was fantastic. They were definately on and were very tight. Een Ryan was patient with the guitar tech when his pedals suddenly quit working toward the end of the set and again during the encore.

Ryan is for sure a guy I can cross off my list and say I've seen of musicians I worship. I knew going in I would be listening to mostly new stuff and songs that are with the Cardinals but a part of me really wished it would have been more of a "greatest hits" Ryan such as songs from his Whiskeytown days. I recall only Stars Go Blue and Rescue Blues of songs he played from his older catalog.

This was probably only the first concert I've been to where the lead singer takes an intermission and the house lights come on halfway through the set so he could take a piss. Another highlight was they played for nearly 2 1/2 hours. (Although a lot of it as mentioned was talking)

I was a little worried Ryan would be pissed. I got there right at 7:30 to about 50 people. I as really worried noone was gonna be there. Eventually the bottom almost filled up with a few scattered up in the balcony.

I'm sure there will be a set list on here soon.

  8. Ryan and Conner will both be making appearences in Champaign in October. Do do not having a lot of money to spend on concerts (hey, day care kills money dead) I could only pick one. I chose Adams. 7th row on the side. If M Ward lays along with Bright Eyes I may have to sell myself on the corner for 30 bucks. Which one would you pick?

  9. Dosn't the current issue have tom morello on it? Maybe I'm missing the boat on that guy but his watchman thing was pretty weak at bonaroo.

Na, that was the one beofre. No more guitar world acoustic.

  10. yeah, and then one back when YHF came out.

He made the cover on the latest, FYI, this was the last issue of guitar World Acoustic. There is now a small section devoted to acoustic in the original Guitar World magazine. Will have to try and get it signed in the future.

  11. She saw him at the baseball game.

I don't know what it is, maybe it's being older, more responsibilities, a three year old daughter, maybe I'm depressed and don't know it....but I don't have theat opening day fever I used to have when I would skip school to watch the home opener. I hope my Whitesox change my current sentiments but right now, I have no umph about my Sox going into 2007.

  12. Because I'd like to understand. But now you should apologize for insulting me, don't you think, dickhead?

I listened to some music at borders the other day and really enjoyed Patty Griffen and Ricki Lee Jones latest. I'm in the same situation as you though. A three year old and have no extra money to be buying music. :(

  13. Mike, your in for a treat when you learn to BT,First thing is patience, read every damn direction carefully,do not skip a thing. There are pleny of BT forums out there to give you help if ya need it.Good luck!

Thanks, my computer is slow and awful. Can you transfer them on to CD?

  14. Is it just me or does Jeff really not like the crowd in Champaign?

I saw Wilco play at Foellinger back in feb. '05, and both times he just seemed to be making fun of a lot of people in the audience. I've seen him elsewhere and it wasn't exactly the same dynamic.

I think he just gets kind of annoyed at the "idiot college kids," but he takes it in stride and just gives it right back to them.

You are not the first person to say this. Most concerts I've been to in Champaign...Crowds are lame. Pearl Jam was pretty good but Pumpkins, 5 or 6 Wilco shows, recently Blue Man group...The crowd is just...lame. Corgon said that once back in 95. He said he didn't come to school here cause U of I was lame. Of course everyone cheered. I actually think he enjoyed himself more this time around. He was quite comedic and interacted positivly for the most part. There will always be a few jerkos in the audience. There's always one.

  15. everytime i try and download the torrent by the tracker status it says Connection Error(UnknownHostException:tracker.etree.org).............can anyone help me out? am i doing something wrong i really wana hear this show

Me too. I dont know if it's my computer or the operator (me) :) If anyone gets this onto CD please please let me now. I will pay you for your time and services.

  16. OK, so I go to the link that leads me to etree.org. I click the torrent...I click open file from current location (other option is to save file to disc, i tried that one also) then it shows it is downloading but then something pops up that says this is not a valid jewel case document. Am I doing something wrong? Also, if I ever get to download it is my only option to listen to it over the computer, can you copy it on to a CD? My computer is awful when it comes to this...anything I try to view...MP player, you tube etc...it always get stucks or "stutters" I hate it. Anyway, any help would be appreciated. My fantasy is to have this show on CD. Not sure if that is an option however. Thanks, MIke

  17. Wow, what a great show. I've been a fan of Wilco for a few years now and it's pretty much all I listen to (I don't listen to music very often since I am usually playing it). I took a friend of mine with and, though she was new to Wilco, she really enjoyed it. Sunken Treasures 'I AM SO OUT OF TUNE' almost made her cry--it definitely took my breath away to say the least (I went home and learned it as soon as I could)

The crowd was okay--a few idiots, some funny dialog with Jeff

    (Fan calls out song title)

JT: 'Is that the name of one of my songs because honestly I forget them all the time'

    Fan: 'It's on the DVD'

    JT: 'Oh.'

I found this show and bought tickets off another member of VC forums just before it started which was totally great--tenth row (J, section 3). Autumn Defense was pretty decent--their songwriting could use some help but they are both very talented--great harmonies.

I am definitely, DEFINITELY, going again as soon as I get money. By far one of the best experiences of my life hands down. He is an amazingly talented man and as a songwriter myself I've got to say I could not even dream of being that talented--You can tell how quick he is with interesting words, like when he said 'a fragile mob'. You could throw it in a song and it would be a good lyric.

As to the mysterious new song: the main jyst of it was 'You should be glad you got out alive', or something to the likeness of that.

Frankly I'm not too turned on by his new songs--Is That The Thanks I Get is catchy but... it doesn't have that same intimate quality and character that Sunken Treasure has.

All in all a great show that I would love to re-live. PRAYING that someone recorded it!

Nice summary. So far, I aree with about everything folks have said relating to the show. That part in Sunken Treasure is so intense. It absolutly took my breath away. Still can't believe he played Radio King. Anyone know if he plays that often? I still think he played it for me. :) I too want to know if someone recorded it. I would gladly, well you know...for a copy.
