I will be taking an early long lunch to catch the second half and overtime if it happens. I am glad Fridays are usually slow so if I am gone too long for lunch no one notices. This is the biggest match for me by far. It ought to be very good. Gehen Deutscher!!!!!!!!!!!

But a lose would have made England have to play a good German team early. You don't want to play the host country early especially when they have a good squad. Also he is very young and they probably didn't want him to make a mistake. I think they should have brought him in at the end of the game but I am not the coach. I think England should be able to beat Ecuador but Holland in Round 3 will be tight I think Holland will most likely dash any of the British hopes. I think Germany should be able to take Sweden hopefully, but the follow up match will be huge Germany and Argentina whoever wins

Don't really have any great offensive players to put in. Part of the problem.

There is a lot of politics and corruption in FIFA. The red cards given in the previous game were ridiculus. But the US team is weak and can't score many goals they were outta the World Cup once they let Ghana score that first goal. I was pulling for the US but pulling for the US soccer team is like pulling for the Cubs you know they are going to lose so you start complaining about how much they suck before the game starts.

Like the US can score 2 goals in a WC game let alone 2 more goals in a game which they have already scored. The US team continues to prove their weak game.

You have no idea Bobo US soccer team is the greatest choke artist out there. Before the World Cup the odds on Ghana winning the WC were 30,000 to 1 and the US team is choking against them, pathetic.

I think it has to do with the lack of aggressiveness that Beckham has shown is why he is getting so much criticism. Though when he does get touches his passes are very accurate and there is probably no one else I would rather corner kick than him. It seems as if he is not getting aggressive enough to get more touches and opportunities for England to score. I would still keep him out there but I could see him not starting or being subbed out for a more aggressive player. I can see England beating Ecuador but I doubt they will beat the Portugal-Holland(assuming Argentina beats holland today) win

If England loses they play Germany next in round 2, but if they tie or win they play Ecuador and Germany plays Sweden.

Old school Tivo is set to record the game because it is just plain unreasonable for me to take lunch at 2:45 to catch the second half. My friend left me a message on the voice mail last night. Very true and understandable but I wish the games were more lunch hour friendly. If the early games were an hour later I could catch both second halfs or if the late games were an hour earlier I could take a late lunch and catch both second halfs. oh well I will have to test my will and see if I can go without looking at the scores.

Lesson learned Tunisia. I am not liking the fact that their are 4 games tommorrow but I will be unable to watch any of them live becasue they start at 9 am and 2 pm. I have to decide which ones I want to tape too and avoid updates all day at work. The England-Sweden game will be a must tape game. BEND IT!!!!!!!

Damn Tunisa is up 1-0 on Spain in the second half. A good site for video clips of the games click on the selected game and then on the video link and a video player will come up and it will show all the close shots, all the goals and all the red card plays. The video link doesn't come up until after the game. Saturday morning in between the games I flipped to telemundo and they had some of the best highlights I have seen all tourney. Of course I am a bit rusty on the espanol.
