www.nojazzfest.com Probably won't be able to catch the show(s) since I'll be on tour, but great to hear they'll be back! New Orleans is my favorite Wilco city -- I discovered their music there while waiting in a clothing shop on Magazine Street for a girlfriend to try on clothes, and came back there a few months later and saw my first Wilco shows....

Neil Young & Wilco Mon 12/1 - Bell Centre - Montreal, PQ Tues 12/2 - Scotia Bank Place - Ottawa, ON Thurs 12/4 - Air Canada Centre - Toronto, ON Sun 12/7 - The Palace of Auburn Hills - Detroit, MI So we've decided to go on Neil Young/Wilco Canadian tour on a train with guitars, a film crew, and copious amounts of liquor. Idea was just birthed about 5 minutes ago so we need the following: 1) Other Recruits 2) Funding 3) More Suggestions...what are we missing? Let's party, eh?

Keswick is too small, it only holds 1300 people. Tower Theater capacity is 3200 people, and would be an easy sellout in Philly. Festival Pier (5000 cap) is a good size for them for a summer show. My bet for their next Philly show would be Tweeter Center indoors (7200 cap, can be curtained off for smaller crowds).

Ok, so months later and I'm almost ready to give this mix to her. A few updates - we went to the Red Bank show and I figured out some of the songs she likes. Two, she does actually want a CD now, so it's scaled back to one 75-minute 'side'. Three, she is now my girlfriend. Still, she leaves for Arizona next week and I want to give her the CD before she leaves. So the mix I ultimately decided to make isn't a start-to-finish lovefest, but I think is a nice balance. Here's what I have so far, critique away: You Are My Face Handshake Drugs Forget the Flowers Hummingbird I'm Always in Love

The mix was pretty good for the most part, but the sound coverage was terrible! The volume level was completely insufficent particularly as you moved towards the middle/back of the lawn. Even at the back of the pavillion. The sound was much better last time Wilco played at Merriweather. Only downside of an amazing show!!!

So I set my alarm this morning to try and get tickets. Then while I'm clicking and waiting for the minutes on the clock to turn, I realize that the show is on TUESDAY, not SATURDAY as I had initially anticipated when I first heard about the Warsaw show last month. I was so dead set on the show being on Saturday, that even after they announced it, I didn't realize it was Tuesday until right now. And I can't go. I leave on Tuesday for tour. I hope they still add SOMETHING on Saturday! Already going to Merriweather, Red Bank, Northampton, & Hammerstein...

This is proving to be an exciting challenge. A little background: She's not too familiar with Wilco, and I'm taking her to the Count Basie show. Possibly Merriweather, too. We're driving in her car and she tells me she's never really heard them. So I told her I'd make her a mix tape! She laughed and jokingly told me it had to be an actual tape (no Cd's or ipod mixes). So that's what I'm going to do. I dug up a secret stash of Maxell XLII's at my parent's house and am going to make the world's first Wilco "ipod playlist --> cassette tape" mix. She's not my girlfriend, but I love

Amazing show!!! I am proud to say that I drove 3250 miles to see Wilco (was travelling cross country back home to philly anyway, but we high-tailed it across the country from San Francisco to C-ville in only a few days to catch the last night of the tour!)
