  1. FYI, the STL posters have just gone up on their internet store. I just ordered one.

Thank you SO much for posting this! I wasn't able to purchase one at the show, but just got one now.

  2. Also just to add....most of the feedback and noise moments in the songs are also present on the album versions of those tracks. The end of Poor Places for example...and the beginning of I Am Trying To Break Your Heart. I think it was pretty cool to get that same element live. I understand it's probably not for everyone though - casual Wilco fans that only know a few songs probably don't dig it, or people who were there mainly to see Nick Lowe.

You are overestimating the amount of "feedback". I would estimate it was about 5 minutes total, but those moments are quite enjoyable and give the set variety and nice transitions. Nick Lowe wasn't even close to stealing the show. His appearance in the encore was fine, but I would bet most people would have preferred a few more Wilco songs.

I made it a point to get there early, because I heard Nick Lowe was to not be missed. But I have to say....I was underwhelmed. Perhaps he needed a backing band behind him, but he was pretty boring. I realize he's sort of a legend, and I was glad I made a point to see him, but I felt like his performance was pretty bare with just the acoustic. And I was in the 2nd row - right in front of him. I think it would have fit in at a coffee house or something, but it didn't really work as an opener to Wilco - just my opinion obviously - and surely not shared by many, because he seemed to have several diehard fans in the crowd shouting his name throughout the set.

  4. Amazing show. I took my dad, who I introduced to Wilco about a year ago - but this was his first time seeing them. He said he would put the first hour of their set in his 'top 5 best shows i've ever seen' category. We had 2nd row orchestra pit tickets, so that certainly doesn't hurt - but I agree that it was a phenomenal show. I went to all 3 nights of their run at the Pageant back in 2008, which obviously covered more ground as far as hearing more songs - but I really enjoyed the setlist tonight. I was glad they played Poor Places - that's my dad's favorite song - i was really shocked it was played so early in the set - but i thought it provided a great sonic shift right into Art of Almost. The encore was kick ass. I could have done without the Nick Lowe appearance and instead heard another Wilco song in the encore, but the guys looked like they were having such a great time with him on stage - and I thought Jeff sang "I love my label" perfectly. All in all a fantastic night of music in a beautiful new (old) venue.

  5. From the Wilco FB page:

I've spoken with lots of people who say they got nothing in the presales yesterday and I can tell you nothing was available 3 min. after the general onsale today.

The sheer amount of tickets on this scalper page is shocking. I'd LOVE to see Wilco void this date and re-sell this venue, using Frontgate if necessary.

Oh man, I feel for everybody that got screwed today, but I managed to score BBB orchestra pit tickets (2nd row from stage) during the Frontgate presale on wednesday and I wouldn't know what to do with myself if they voided this date and resold all the tickets.
