  1. From Billboard.com

The track list has been revealed for the soundtrack to the Cirque Du Soleil/Beatles show "Love," due Nov. 21 via Apple Corps Ltd/Capitol. The 26-track disc, housed on a DVD-Audio/DVD-Video hybrid, will also be the legendary group's first album available in 5.1 Dolby Digital stereo.

As previously reported, the music for the album and stage extravaganza was assembled by Beatles producer George Martin and his son, Giles, from the Beatles' original master tapes.

In addition to the album cuts that were previewed to media last May, including "Lady Madonna," "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" and "Within You Without You/"Tomorrow Never Knows," the set also contains a mash-up of "Drive My Car," "The Word" and "What You're Doing" and a blend of "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!" with "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" and "Helter Skelter."

"George and Giles did such a great job combining these tracks," says Ringo Starr. "It's really powerful for me and I even heard things I'd forgotten we'd recorded." Paul McCartney adds, "This album puts the Beatles back together again, because suddenly there's John and George with me and Ringo. It's kind of magical."

  2. I was browsing Amazon the other day and noticed the 1998 film Safe Men is finally out on DVD. I have a previously viewed VHS but am looking forward to purchasing the DVD.

People either love or hate this movie but it's John Hamburg's directorial debut. Hamburg wrote/co-wrote Meet the Parents, Zoolander, Along Came Polly, etc. It's got a great cast, Paul Giamatti (Veal Chop) in one of his funniest roles; Michael Lerner as Big Fat Bernie Gayle, Providence Jewish Mafia; Sam Rockwell and Steve Zahn, Mark "Sweet 'Stache" Ruffalo; and Peter Dinklage as Harvey Fierstein's hired muscle.

Again, it's one of those movies that either really hits your funny bone or you can't stand but for those of you that have Netflix or other similar services, check it out. Very quoteable as well.

  3. AM: I Must Be High/Too Far Apart

BT: Red Eyed and Blue/Dreamer in My Dreams

MAI: One By One/Christ for President

ST: A Shot in the Arm/When You Wake Up Feeling Old

MAII: Secret of the Sea/Joe DiMaggio Done It Again

    YHF: Kamera/War on War

    AGIB: Theologians/Less Than You Think

That was tough. I'm sure people still like their least favorite pick but it still stings a little to say "least favorite."

I can't believe all the "Why Would You Want To Live" least favorites. I dig that tune.

Only reason "Joe DiMaggio..." gets a least vote is because he's a Yankee. Couldn't Guthrie write a Ted Williams song?!?

  4. I heard the Jim Noir tune "In the Key of C" on the radio the other day and liked it. Anyone heard the the album?

Also, looking for information on Jim Noir I found Peter, Bjorn and John. Anyone heard these guys?

    Thanks.

  5. Yeah, TMBG's No! is a huge hit in my house. My son even likes the CD ROM content on the disc which is little manipulative flash music videos for the songs.

No one's mentioned Harry Nilsson's "The Point"? Definitely a kid friendly album that won't grate on your nerves.

Jason Faulkner also did a Beatles instrumental lullaby album thats relaxing.

  6. I was a winner too. (Mine was the picture of my daughter in the Wilco onesie with the Heinekin bottle next to her.)

The poster I received was the one with the bulldozer/backhoe/some kind of big rig holding the word Wilco. What a cool prize, original artwork signed by the whole band. It took about 4 weeks or so to get it.

Also, I use Hotmail and the notification showed up in "Junk" mail because it wasn't from a recognized source so if anyone is awaiting word on a submitted photo and you use Hotmail, check your "Junk" folder.

  7. Of course you're all forgetting Peter Sellers was James Bond as well in the original Casino Royale. He was actually Evelyn Tremble ("Evelyn, isn't that a woman's name? No, it's mine.") but became James Bond to take on Orson Wells as LeChiffre.

One-shot Lazenby was not the greatest James Bond but On Her Majesties Secret Service was one of the best all around James Bond movies. The fight scenes were tight, no spaceships, great opening theme song, and heart.
