  1. the chord progressions, i sometimes took the general harmony into account, which explains many of the seemingly random sus4s, 6s, and maj7s floating around.:

    intro: Am-Cmaj7

    verse: Amsus4-Am-Cmaj7-Cmaj6-G-Em-Am

    chorus: C-Am-C-Am-G-Em-Am-C-Am-Cmaj7

    postlude: G-Em-Am-Am

there's a lot of stuff in between that i'm not willing to notate out at the moment.

How do you play th4e Amsus4 and Cmaj6?

  2. This is the tab i was able to find searching.... but that D/F# doesn't sound right to me, but maybe im playing it wrong. Anybody able to confirm that is the correct chord? Rest of the song sounds perfect to me.

    Silence

    Capo Fret 1

    [D] Why am I [G] sad?

The city lights tonight are [F#m] beautiful [G] without her.

[D] At two forty [G] five

I turn to see on Second [F#m] Avenue a sleeping [G] taxi cab.

    In [D/F#] silence [D]

  3. doont have either the song or my guitar right here, but I think the riff sounds like something like this

    e-------7---7--6--5--4--------

    b------------------------------

    g--6s7-----7--6--5--4-------

I'm not sure I like this version to tell you the truth. That electric riff reminds me too much of some 60's song, and it get's a little repetitive

Really? Hmm i thought the song needed something else... like it was great hearing it live at NYC with ORourke, but i felt like a riff over the simple chords was needed. They definitly could have put a little solo riff in though at the break in the song instead of just repeating that lead guitar part again.

  4. Mike this is the solo, which on the album sounds like it was done by multiple overdubs of various organs and things. Live however, Bennett played this on guitar... I'm basing this tab after the version played at the last Lounge Axe show

I know what you're saying about the riffs throughout the song. I dont have those 100%, but most seem to be simply arpegiating the chords, often sliding up to the chord shape from one fret below. I can get pretty close, but I haven't taken the time to tab it out. Let me take another run through it, and I'll see what I can do for tabbing some more of it out.

ah ok, i havent heard a live version of summerteeth with Jay.

  5. Here's your answer:

    F#min F#min/F F#min/E B(or F#min/D#)

    Also:

it doesn't seem to mean anything part:

    It's not so much a G#min as a B with a walkdown: B B/A B/G# B/F#

    Thanks!

whats the F# min/D# look like? And for B would u play the bar chord at 7th fret?

  6. how do you play the part right before "its just a dream he keeps having" I know its switches to maybe 3 different versions of an F# chord or something from seeing him play it at the show

yea i already looked at that, it doesnt have the chords for the part im looking for.... besides that its a good tab.
