Can't say I'm all that sad he died, not nearly as sad as I am that he was as tortured as he was. Not nearly as sad as I am that drugs and mental illness stamped out his music career and creativity. By all accounts much of his life was pretty bad even if recent reports mention he had recently felt better. Sometimes death sets people free, IMO this is one of those times.
