Well, either I have a bed of flowers that dies in the winter and is covered with snow or I have a bed of veggies that dies in the winter and is covered with snow. But since it's in the front, I'd like it to be somewhat attractive looking in the process.

I was thinking of replacing the ornamental plants in a circular bed in front of our house with edible ones, but I'm not sure what would look attractive. Since it is the front yard I don't want tall stalks or vines running rampant.

I think it's easier for us to get away with some of this stuff not having quite a severe winter here, sure gets cold, but almost never snow, scattered hard freezes, I don't know up there, native plants and all. Oh well, it's hot already, but honestly I don't mind the heat. I like being out in it.

Just thinking some - Lock was "told" to the move the island, by Christian Shepard right? Not really Jacob. i was thinking, that might even be code, and Locke, again being the saddest character on the island, might have relayed a message to Ben without even knowing it. Ben's always got a plan, so. I knew there was no way anyone else could be in that coffin, Locke, doomed regardless, we'll see if he ever gets redemption.

Anyway, I'm just going back over and re-thinking things.

Yeah, we are trying to finish our "living" front yard, no more mowing or anything, it's beautiful and natural, we know many folks who do it, they inspired us.

and not all food, just native grass, and plants that sustain themselves with almost zero maintenance, yo we ow!

yes, mrs. perm & i also volunteer with the green corn project, which goes around bringing organic gardens to people who can't afford to do it themselves, we teach them, build and help maintain the gardens for the first 2 years. it's great.
