The same happened for me this past weekend. I said I wouldn't listen to anything until the day of the release but caved. Then I couldn't get the stream to work. Maybe it's a sign to keep waiting.
Waiting for what? If you can hear it now that won't make it less good to hear it now will it?

I hope it is just a glitch.

I'll be there with my wife and sister.

Basically Jones poorly framed and setup the shots. His handheld moves are really bad news. The focus is off for quite a bit of the film too. He also was shooting in low light situations and almost the entire film is slightly underexposed, which is why it is so grainy. Generally you would slightly overexpose if possible to alleviate some of the grain. The framing in the interviews in the film is also horrible. Just watch Jeff explaining being dropped in the hotel room. It is really important what he is saying but there is Jones unable to frame him well and checking focus the whole time and always reframing the shot. Drawing attention to the camera instead of the subject is a big no no in documentary for obvious reasons.
*Also the camera Jones used was great. In fact it was much higher quality than the Burn to Shine guys who shoot on video. But even with less expensive cameras their work looks much better.
Very good post futureage1. I'm a photographer myself but I took some film classes in school and it was much harder. I agree with many of your points. Nice to read a post from someone who knows what they are writing about.

I'll be there. It is going to be a long weekend. I'm going to Lollapalooza to see Radiohead, Wilco and many others. Then I'll be back in Indy Monday to see Wilco again. It should be good times.

It is a great song but sadly I have never seen it played live.

jimmy buffett, during his prime, at least had quite humorous lyrics!
Don't you mean unlistenable?

Sadly I have only seen them once but it was awesome. Can't wait to see them again sometime soon.

7. Your blog name is based on a Wilco song
8. If every time a Wilco show is within a 5 hour drive you attempt to buy tickets
9. If you send more messages on Via Chicago to other members then email to your own friends
I do #8 a lot.

All The Same to Me
By far the best Golden Smog ever. In my opinion. I wish I could hear it played live. It would have been unreal if Wilco had played it with Andrew Bird during the Chicago shows.

SNL!
in Just A Fan
Wow SNL is really bad nowadays. What the hell happened to that show? That girl from that Juno really can't act at all. Anyway I loved the way they played on Walken enough though it isn't one of favorites off of the new album. By the way to Wilco Worshipper it is awesome you got to get into see them play.

I have a PS3 and I love it that I can Blu-Ray on it. Never was a fan of HD DVD.

It was a great show only thing that was a let down was I requested My Words and sadly it did not get played. I got there early enough to be asked and put on the list but oh well. I can't believe how fast the time went. It was good times and I can't wait to see the rest of the band play again.

I can't wait for the show tomorrow. I saw Jeff at the Vic back in 05 and was blown away.

The first album I heard from Wilco was Being There back in 96 and I have always loved their new material and Uncle Tupelo's material. I met the band at X-fest when I was seventeen at one of the signing booths after their set. No one really knew who they were so the line was super short. Hard to believe that was almost eleven years ago.

he didn't ruin YHF or AGIB...

I was poking fun at his own comment in the Wilco film. As a producer I likes him, but his own solo music and his stuff on the Loose Fur albums really don't do anything for me.

i really don't think Jim O'Rourke is overrated. as much as i love SBS, i'd love to hear the mix of it that he did.

But he ruins records, or so he says.

"We expect to win the World Series every year." Bite me. I'm glad the Yankees look bad.
With their payroll and lineup they should expect to win ever year. At least they should get out of the first round against inferior teams. I still don't understand how this makes the Yankees look bad.

I hardly call 5 million a slap. He was still going to be the highest paid manager in baseball.
Everyone knows just getting into the playoffs is not enough for the Yankees.
-
First off I liked Joe but, I don't understand Yankee fans defending his past few years of bad managing in the post season. Also how do the Yankees look bad in this deal. He was still going to be the highest paid manager in baseball and if could actually win in the post season he would have made more money next season than he did this season.

Wow sad news to hear. I loved the music Jay created with the band on the old album's he will be missed. My prayers go out to his family in their time of loss.
