Win Butler is Sunday night's guest in Montreal. Should be good.
-
This is so good. Definitely some RA influence, in the best way possible.
-
Does anybody know what "The Midway Lawn" is, as opposed to Champlain Valley Expo proper?

Here's the Gazette review - http://www.montrealgazette.com/Review+Wilco+Metropolis/5424431/story.html
I'd agree with Kalle, they finally seem to have step up their game in the light show department. The projections on the hanging things are fantastic.

Nice to see all the Dan Romano love in here. He's got a great live band together too, that sometimes channels the Jacksonville City Nights era RA & the Cardinals, Grateful Dead doing country kinda vibe.
That Colin Stetson album really is something.

Saw the Montreal show last night, incredibly good performance. I liked the Evil Urges material a lot more live than on record.

I'm still trying to get to the Montreal page, anybody can confirm it's GA?
Metropolis is definitely GA.
-
I'm pretty sure this show was labeled "No cameras, audio or video recording". Didn't see any sign of tapers present.
-
Great show! Running jokes about Rush, Justin Bieber (sp?) and Buck/Buick.
-
Late to the party as usual, but what ever happened to Gavin Gardiner producing, if you don't mind me asking?
-
4th row for Montreal here too. Seems like the pre-sale got a great allotment of seats, everyone I talked to is in the first 6 rows.
-
Saw them last night in Montreal. Really solid show, setlist was heavy on the new album, and great job on the female vocals by Sarah Watkins (ex-Nickel Creek).
-
Haven't logged in here in ages and coincidentally its right when they announce news and dates. Looking forward to the Montreal date, L'Olympia is a gorgeous venue.
-
This album is outstanding.
-
Neal's a heck of a player and a heck of a nice guy. I've always wondered about those unreleased Cardinals recordings, hopefully they'll see the light of day at some point.
-
I love that I've discovered two Hali-based blogs from this thread. Do either of you review local stuff?
-
"Hope they got that ok from management in writing."
Sorry, who didn't read the whole thing?
-
I hate to be 'that guy' but, but has no one heard of copyright or trademark law? Hope they got that ok from management in writing.
-
I saw the debut in Fredericton, and to put it as nice as possible, the song was a dog. Fake string parts played by the keyboards? Woof.
Let's Not Get Carried Away on the other hand, should be brought back...

Probably my least favourite venue I've seen Wilco in and my least favourite overall show/setlist... but when you live in Atlantic Canada and get to see Wilco without driving 8 hours and using any vacation days, it's always win-win!
I thought the sound was pretty dodgy for the first few songs, but cleaned up after that. The drums were buried in the mix all night though. It will be interesting to see what surfaces for recordings of this show because I know a board feed was granted.
I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere, but is John rocking a left-handed Fender P-bass strung upside down for Bull Black Nova? Nels' Nash tele looked and sounded sweet.
There's no better feeling than going to a rock show and pumping your fist and yelling "Nothing" thirty-some times in a row. Fack I love this band.

Also, I just realized… no Monday on a Monday? What the hell?!
