  1. Arsenal do so much better on the road now than they have for several seasons.

Yeah, the best away team so far this year.

Being knocked out of the CL will help Chelsea in the league a bit, I think. Hopefully Arsenal will bump up the goal difference just in case we end up tied on points.

  2. The goals were horrible and the away goal was huge. With that a 1-0 result in a few weeks will put us through. The way everybody is dropping points in the league means, though Arsenal are still a long shot, they cannot be counted out. It will take a near perfect run, though.

Check out this fan documentary. Great stuff!

Looking forward to Fox Soccer Plus (in HD) coming on March 1st even though I haven't seen confirmation that Comcast will have it on that date. In my area the sports package is only $7/mo and includes Fox Soccer Channel and GolTV. Anybody watch matches on ESPN360? I was happy in August when Comcast finally joined up with ESPN on that. Cannot beat free. Love watching matches in HD on ESPN2. Makes it hard to watch FSC in standard definition.

  3. I was happy to see this last night! Booster packs are on sale too @ 50 dowloads for $19.99.

Looks like pretty much the entire catalog for Neil Young, Flaming Lips, the Replacements, Built to Spill, Husker Du and so on. Some good deals too, like Neil Young "Decade" only costs 12 credits (or about $4.80), "Perfect From Now On" is only 8 credits, none of the Husker Du's are more than 12 credits...

I'm happy I didn't use any of my credits this month.

The Wrens Promise New Album (Again)

Last January, we posted a story titled "The Wrens Are Back! (For Real This Time, They Swear)". Back then, the notoriously slow New Jersey band-- whose last LP, The Meadowlands, came out seven years ago-- promised a new album in 2009. Well, that didn't happen. But it might. Soon. Maybe!

A new post on the Wrens' website states, "We haven't started new recording yet (I know, I know, believe me), [but] in a very real way, we've never been more ahead or more prepared. Or had more plans or ideas. Weird, I know, but sometimes such are one's middle years." The band list some reasons for the delay here, too.

The band also claims that "official full-band recording starts next Wednesday, January 13th, 2010, at approximately 6:00pm E.S.T. in a New Jersey basement studio." And they plan to finish recording by June. "No, this June."

While the Wrens didn't release an album last year, they did put out some demos and play some shows, so that's something. And they're playing a show at Boston's Middle East January 16, so that's something else.
