I thought I would start a topic about how pretty jeff is. He's just awesome. Yep.
I hear that, sister. Nobody seems to want to indulge in such fanciful matters on this board, but I'm right behind you. Jeff is hot and he has a great nose. And Rhett. He's hot too.

I ended up scoring 2 tickets on the 1st mezz which is nothing short of a miracle. I think it must have been good Wilco karma because the 4 other people I know who tried all got shut out. It is going to be a madhouse and the mezz is the only place where you don't get crushed by drunk meatheads.
I would be surprised if they didn't add a show or 2 in NYC, but am sort of tied. Is seeing them at Hammerstein, Pines and Red Bank already a little psycho obsessive? If they add another show I can't NOT go, but that will really push me over the line of sanity that I am already stradling.
Maybe some other psycho obsessive fans can make me feel a little better? My friends are ready to perform an intervention.

Thanks for the info....I was planning on buying NYC tickets the same time...I am not that good at multitasking
Me too, I am totally stressed out right now over it. Those NYC are going to go fast.

It's at noon.
I just put this in another post too, but it also says there is a 2 ticket limit per person. that can't be true, can it?
-
FWIW, Count Basie sale has moved to Noon EDT (when scrolling over the Wilco link, it shows this info in the lower left hand corner).
Slow site...glad I got my tix pre-sale (just trying to help some friends out today).
I know, buying these NJ tickets is a headache (especially since wilcoworld is listing them as going on sale at 10am). It also says on the Count Basie site that there is a 2 ticket limit per person. Is this really true?
-
I got totally dissed by the Count Basie pre-sale and my 2 friends were dissed by the Hammerstein one! We were all signed on right at 10 also. Oh well, Friday morning it is.
But what's with the pre-sale tickets being in rows M and P? I would expect them to be right up front! Do you think closer seats will even go on sale?
-
This is seriously stressful... Hammerstein is going to sell out in a hot minute, but NJ is assigned seating!
I guess I'll go for NJ. How often do you get the luxury of an assigned seat? And deep in my heart I know I'll be at Hammerstein whatever happens. Still stressful though.

I just checked the Pines website and it says that tix go on sale on 4/13/07. It probably won't sell out, but I still wanted to put it out there.
The Pines is incredibly chill and beautiful. It looks like an elf castle. I encourage everyone to go. But, show up early. I showed up early (or so I thought) and they were already half way through IATTBYH (which was like the 4th or 5th song!). I almost had a heart attack when I heard it from the parking lot.

Sorry, I just get upset when people who get to see Wilco much more than I do complain about it.
Fair enough, but I must point out that 2004 was a lloooonnngggg time ago. Us New Yorkers are just spoiled and as a result our expectations are too high.

There are 2 free nights between NYC and Boston. I am hopeful - nobody ever plays New York for just one night, right? And while we're at it - finally some NYC love from Wilco! Can I get a witness?

A lot of Jay hate in this thread
Remember folks, he's the one who's girlfriend was practically raped by his best friend
I think he handled as well as he could
Jeff is lucky he can still walk
Huh? What incident was this? Jeff flirted with Jay's girlfriend and it led to the breakup of UT? I can't tell is this is serious or sarcastic.
-
Does anyone else listening to the lyrics on this album wonder whether there is some tension going on in the Tweedy household? Frankly, this sounds like an outright divorce album to me. I am not trying to get into conjecture about Jeff's marraige, but does anyone else agree?
-
Not me, I got shut down mid download.
Would you sending me a PM? I would be sooo grateful.

Take this dude's advice and you will find them...

If I found a Summerteeth vinyl I would buy it without hesitation.
They have it an Amazon.coo.uk right now:

Now that RBally.net is gone, does anyone have any recommendations of good MP3 blogs? Of course some (like Aquariumdrunkard) are pretty good, but RBally used to post full shows of bands in their absolute prime.
any recommendations of other people doing this?

I was at the show where Wilco played this. The last show at Lounge Ax. Absolutely hilarious. Their roady at the time played the part of Billy Bragg complete with the accent. Still one of the top 10 Wilco shows.
I would love to hear this. Does anyone have a copy:? I believe it's the last song of the last show that was ever played at Lounge Ax.
-
I know Billy Bragg sings it on the record, but why has this song only been played once? It's such a fun song and it would be so great live! Does anyoone else wish they would bust it out every once in a while?

If you check the iTunes store there are at least 3 videos for sale including "outtasite" and 2 or 3 more.

Definitely not a fan of Roseland (or Hammerstein either for that matter), which is why I'm heading to Philly instead.
That is a brilliant idea. I kind of like Hammerstein though, at least the mezz seats are amazing if you're lucky enough to score them.

30 Thu New York, NY Roseland Ballroom 10/11/06 10/19/06
Am I the only person in NY who hates Roseland? It's impossible to see anything and is in a totally stressful out-of-the-way neighborhood. Nonetheless, I will obviously be there. I just had to complain.

I guess those of us who saw them in their Southern Harmony/Amorica/3 Snakes incarnation should just treasure the memories and consider ourselves lucky.

Can I ask a stupid question? i am fairly new to VC and have never really participated on boards in the past. What is the difference between a subcription and a donation? What is one subscribing to?
odds for another new york date?

I heard a rumor that they will not be adding another Hammerstein show, but will be adding a smallish Brooklyn show very soon from someone who works in the general music promotion/booking business. Obviously it's only a rumor, but I am ready to get behind it, even if it's just wishful thinking (where would we be without it, right?).
In terms of buying Hammerstein tickets, I have found that tickets that have been held for industry people etc. always get released later on, so I would keep trying Ticketmaster. I have also found that when something gets sold out so quickly there is always an overpriced ticket buying frenzy, but that if you wait until closer to the date you can generally find tickets for sale on Craigslist or eBay at near face value. People horde tickets until they are sure they're not using them (in fact, I may be hording a pair of NJ tickets, but I won't know until a few weeks before the show - I am still hoping some more friends will sign on to go).
So unless the suspense is killing you and you NEED to know that you will be there, I would wait until the ticket prices go down a bit. That's what I would do. And whatever happens you can always get $100 tickets at the last minute.
