It's by Isao Tomita, one of the real pioneers of the synth; that whistling melody sound he uses is pretty unmistakable. I think it's from his first album, Snowflakes Are Dancing, which is a collection of Debussy pieces.
My first Wilco show -- and the best concert I've seen in at least four years. They came out ready to burn tonight -- riveting from the word go. Tweedy didn't speak until after Theologians. When he said hi, it was almost as if he wanted to talk about his mom's passing. But somebody up front yelled something, and he seemed to make a quick decision to go elsewhere. The rest of the night's announcements generally played off some of the shouters near the stage.
