  1. Ryan on KCRW today talking about his new album:

“I don’t think I’ve ever worked on anything harder than I have on it, and I’m still working on it, which is amazing. In fact, when I leave here, I go straight over to work on it more. And I think, probably, it’s the most songs I ever wrote for a record and it’s the most emotional…whatever this process was, was so cathartic, and was cathartic in a way where I actually made songs where I would listen back to what I had to say and go, ‘That is really messed up.’ Or listen to something and go, ‘There’s actual hope in there.’ What does that mean? I really let the process become part of me this time.”

“I’ve really found a way to try to become optimistic and to find ways of writing that can be helpful to myself, and that’s maybe been a huge challenge.”

  2. I was blown away when wilco play two nights in a row in my hometown. It was when they were putting the finishing touches on Wilco (the album). photo shoot for album cover and baseball game appearance, two shows at an amazing local venue. they've never performed two consecutive days in my town. so it was heaven for me. however, chicago is only 90 miles away but tickets are difficult to get. cheers to all.

  3. for some reason, this record release had me as excited for when wilco released Summerteeth. so happy.

i saw Tweedy perform in august,  which was awesome, but after listening to the record, id love to experience the band again.

  4. I pre-ordered the album in june so i didnt get all the pre-ordered downloads.....i dont want to hear it until it comes out officially. ive seen Tweedy in concert so i'm aware of some of the songs but i just want to put on the headphones, spin the record, and take it all in. yes....many articles...im ready to listen too!!

  5. I spun the new RA record this evening....maybe i like it because its been a few years since his last release but overall, I like it a lot. The guitar sound is great and the mix is good. Shadows is perhaps the best song on the album, i can hear a killer live version. RA has received a lot of criticism over the years, some merited, some overly critical, but he says he is in a healthy place and his music proves it. check it out.

  6. 1984

a new 7" from RA. it didnt take very long to sell out.

The next installment in the Pax-Am 7” series is here.
