elston gunn

i love Bob, but his voice is too shot for my ears. i enjoy every show but i just wish he had now his late 90s-early 00's voice. which was shot, but in a beatiful way.

the voice is what it's all about. there isn't anyone who could sing these later-period Dylan songs but him. his voice is perfect. he's proved himself to be one of the finest singers and interpreters of the blues ever. go back and listen to Charley Patton, Robert Johnson or Dock Boggs sing and you might have a different perspective about what is great...and why they (and Dylan's recent work) are considered to be such.

if it's hard to pick an album, go figure about picking just a song. too many to mention. but the best Neil Young track i've ever heard is the Live At Fillmore '70 version of Cowgirl In The Sand.

Yea, those other two are okay....

 

Isn't Wonderin' actually written by Neil? It sounds like an old song (doo wop style) but I think he wrote it.

Wonderin' is included in the recent Live At Fillmore East 1970. and yes, it was written by Neil. great song. i prefer the Fillmore East version with Crazy Horse, of course.

absolutely. i'm saying that "Impossible Germany, Unlikely Japan" like 300 times a day since i first heard the song.
