  1. You people are really getting this all wrong. It wasn't that the Spokane crowd didn't know how to rock. Rather, the sound was so amazing in the Opera House that everyone was in awe of it all. If you were there you would have seen the crowd grooving to the Tweedy vibe. There was no time, no inappropriate moments to make a spectacle of oneself. In all it was sublime. If you didn't notice you were probably too drunk.

  2. I thought the crowd was very respectful. I actually appreciate quiet attentiveness at a musical performance.

My favorite Wilco song and my first time seeing it in 10 shows! I was shocked.

It was a very moving rendition of How to Fight Loneliness!

  3. Excellent sounding venue. The crowd needed to be prodded into doing anything other than sitting dumbly in their seats, but the acoustics of the room were wonderful. The opening run of tunes didn't do much to wind anyone up, but the music was tight and well done - Sunken Treasure was arranged a little differently than when I saw it in last and I liked it. As the night went on the crowd began to loosen up, especially before Kingpin when Jeff goaded them to pretend they were drunk and yell a little (it should be noted here that the venue does not allow consumption of alcohol inside the theater-?!). My personal highlight was I Shall Be Released with Fleet Foxes - it was tight and done with soul. It was a good show made better by the quality of the room, if not the crowd. Also, the finishing run of Late Greats->Casino Queen, Outasight had what was left of the crowd grooving... I was sorry it had to end. I've got some pics to add a bit later.

This was my second time seeing the band, the other in Seattle a couple years ago, and this was a significantly superior show. Personally, I'd rather go to a show where the crowd was actually listening intently instead of stumbling around drunk, making it difficult to hear the music. From what I saw the Spokane crowd was very much into the show, in awe even. And as you mentioned, the quality of the room was top notch. It is the kind of place you go to appreciate music. I hope someone taped it. I'd love to have a copy, particularly for I shall be released with Fleet Foxes. Instant Classic!

  4. "Under the Pink," right?

That one's pretty good, but it was a bit disappointing to me after Little Earthquakes. Nothing of hers has hooked me ever since, but I continue to respect what she does and there've been some good songs here and there.

Under the pink is good, but into the pink is better, always.

  5. Really depends on the day or the mood, but these will do:

    Side with the Seeds

    Jesus Etc

    Sunken Treasure

    Company in My Back

    One By One

    Heavy Metal Drummer

    Impossible Germany

I am Trying to Break Your Heart

    Pieholden Sweet

    Magazine Called Sunset

  6. I thought for awhile this song was about my marriages. My first wife was German, ok 1/2 German, and my second wife is Vietnamese, ok not quite Japanese, but close. Whatever the case, I find myself losing time in Impossible Germany. Is that bad? Thank god it transitions into Sky Blue Sky, and I'm left a way out. How did we ever live in an age without the internet and pre-releases?
